EF Squad 2009 Mountain Run Discussion

Sure, if you've got a 180-200whp all motor car its going to handle it just fine. But most stock n/a swaps in general don't have a powerband thats near as comfortable to use in the mountains.

Well, I mean, I had no problem running anyone with my stock LS swap, and we had boosted setups up there. Then again, I was more familiar with the route and the attitude of turns and curves...

Either way, I think we can agree that the more power is ideal, but not necc. faster.

Alan's girl was on the last one i was apart of, well i was just throwing out the fact that i've seen some fast guys up there thats all ben, and I think we could come up with a better test then that for her haha

+1. I have yet to see a boosted EF that kept up in the mountains with my EF when I had it.

it is a race, i live my life one mountain run at a time for those 2 hours or less i'm free.... i also only race for pinks....

I think you guys are missing the point i was trying to make.

Real talk mathew, your car was a Si, lets say approx 90-100whp. Myself and brad both run a similiar suspension setup to yours. Hypothetically speaking because we haven't been together on a track, but even if me and him were both decent drivers but worse drivers than you, we are both 200+whp range. All 3 of us know how to drive a line and enter/exit turns, a Si has no chance honestly of thinking about keeping up. I personally don't run high speeds down the straights and 90% of the time i maintain the speed limits but i do enter turns quickly and power out hard.

My argument was bringing into play the experience factor. Yes, if you both have the exact skill and setup, the one with more power will outrun. But if you have different cars, and the slower driver is more experienced...my money's on the slower car...

Ive personally witnessed several guys that were amazing drivers.

Yeah, I definitely miss it, man. If you're still around in like...4yrs, I'm honestly considering coming back east and opening a hobbyshop. If I do, I'll be back in the game hardcore. Otherwise, it'll just be the stang (if I still have it) blown and built.
