Official EF Squad Mountain Run (Fall Edition)

Usually during gold rush there are a ton of GSP and law around the square directing traffic etc. I would actually venture to say that law enforcement on mtn runs will probably be at a minimum since they allocate so much resources to managing traffic. Its just getting around town is a little more difficult.

Guess I'll be the first to flake out. As of right now I'm up in the air on this one. Nothing to do with gold rush, but as of now my white car is in the shop and I'm not too sure what I got planned for it. lol

So should I feel better that the law won't be around the mountains & we should be fine or should I be disappointed that there might be a lot of cars around the mountains & we won't be able to do our thing? I don't live up there so I don't know but is it worth my time coming or should I just stay at home now .. ?

Honestly, I'm not planning on going now just b/c my car is apart. But its never going to be very good on a weekend anyways, especially now with all the leafers(tourist driving up to see the leafs change

)driving around all slow. GoldRush will keep most of the LEOs in town for the festivities, but expect a unit up there sometime through out the day. With a group this size I would have to say, it will be as slow if not worse than our last run. If you plan on coming up get up here EARLY(pre 9am) or late (after 4pm) in the evening. The place i usually go during the weekends is 129 b/c it has two lanes going up so it doesn't matter if there are leafers or slow drivers. The past few weekends though it has been patrol rather heavily.

If its possible id recommend just waiting a week or two and minimize the chance of there being a problem. I didnt even realize it was gold rush weekend until i looked at the calendar and saw it was the third weekend of the month.

well, ik i havn't been posting much, school has been killing me. but sadly, i'ma have 2 sit this one out. it would cost me $100 just in gas to take this trip, and thats money and time that i dont have.

imo, we have 3 options:

1. stick to the day and time and just hope for the best. as was mentioned before, there might be light traffic on the roads we intend to hit anyway.

2. change the day to the following week or whatever. if we wait too long it'll be too cold and that won't be fun though.

3. keep the same date, but change the location - we could go farther north up 129 to deals gap. now THOSE are some fun roads.

I'm down to do any of the above, and will stick to the locked in day if anybody wants to join me.

thoughts?

at least post up so we can get a count of who all will be in and for when.

yea, but.. i can't. this weekend i have to study for finals, and it's a big, big home game.

next weekend I have to stay here for the regents test and do some community service for my environmental biology class that saturday, so the following weekend is the only chance i'ma be able 2 come back for awhile...

i'll be there hopfully the 6th thru the 9th

for those who are still down for Sunday (tomorrow):

I'm thinking noon is a nice late time for those of us who like to sleep in on Sunday.
We could meet at the Wal-Mart in Dahlonega since they won't notice a few extra cars in their parking lot way out in the spaces nobody wants to park in anyway since they're so far out.
So, noon at the walmart parking lot. Look for a black 5lug ef or shoot me a pm for my phone #.
