    Cool Official Track DAY Meet!

Ok guys! Let's finally get a track day going. This will be held at Atlanta Dragway (Commerce, GA) and will be either August 1st, or 8th (both are fridays because of test and tune days). I'm aiming more toward the 8th. If you're down post up. Since most people work on fridays, I doubt there would be an official caravan to this meet (unless you want one), so get on the road as early as possible so you wont spend you're day in traffic LOL.

Looking at the schedule the only Sundays that Commerce is open is when there is a national event going on. The only times people can run his/her street cars are on the Friday Test and Tune nights.

My experience with drag strips is that they run till midnight or 1am a lot of the times, but I have no specific experience at Commerce. Alan, you're not fast enough to worry about a helmet.

13.99 or faster requires a helmet.

11.49 or faster requires a roll bar. (13.49 for convertibles)

At 9.99 or 135mph you need a full cage.

    this sounds awesome

just wondering... what if you dont know what you run? do they let you do a prelim. to find out? (for situations when you dont have a helmet etc)

The tech inspectors have a good eye for estimating. If it turns out you need a helmet, you can usually rent one there. If you unexpectedly break into the 13s on one of your runs, they'll just ask you to wear a helmet on subsequent runs. Or maybe not, Test & Tune days are fairly laid back.

I think the admission for the T & T nights is only like $20. So, not too bad for a prepped track and as many runs as you can get. Check Atlanta Dragway's web site for more info.

Oh, and if you want a pretty fair amount of track time for your DE dollar, NASA will be at Rockingham toward the end of Spetember. It's a simple, fun, short road course that uses three of the four banked turns.

Yeah, its $10 bucks just to get in and $10 more if you want to run. I got there one friday last year when the gates opened, and there was a slight chance of rain in the forecast. Fortunatly it never did and I got near 20 runs in, i never sat in the staging lanes for more than 10mins. If the civic is still in one piece by this date, ill be there

If your battery is relocated, then Yes. Make sure it is mounted properly & not sliding around, and you have an external kill switch w/ a lable. However, they let me slide on the kill switch the first time I went, but just told me next time to have one or I couldn't run. They kept my name on file aswell so I couldn't slip through agian

It's really pretty straight forward. You'll need to buy a switch from a racing supply company, then wire into the circuit with the battery.

But, if your battery is in the stock location, you won't need a killswitch.

BTLFED has a turbo ZC with nitrous, so I think he has held the claim for quickest ZC for some time.
