    Default Picking Up A Complete OBDO B16 Motor

    guess what ef ridas...came across this dude from grifin.....ga...old dude had a ef with a JDM b16 for sale with original jdm mounts and linkages and ecu.....told me if i take the motor out myself i could have it for $400......WATTA BARGIN....DUUUDES

    dang i wish i would have known sooner cuz i just bought parts and i have 250 left over n i need a d16 ill wait but if u can just tell me when need ill have the cash on hand.

    man thats a killer deal i dont even know how to take out motor all that well yet and id still be like yeah i can do a swap lol i do have ben on speed dial though

    better question is what the hell is a old dude doing with a damn jdm swap in a ef???? ive seen old ppl with gsr tegs but swapped cars!!!! are we all getting that old to where a swapped ef is the norm?

    Not to knock you, but that's a USDM Si motor unless they went through the trouble to change the Intake Manifold on it.



    From the picture, you'll notice the following.

    Absence of a PGM-F1 label on the intake manifold.

    The Intake manifold has no bulge on the back side (side facing the firewall).

    Connector plugs on the engine harnesses are grey instead of milky white.

    Absence of vacuum dashpots on the intake manifold and throttle body.

    MAP sensor is an integral part of the throttle body, not an external one with a tube.

    my dad's 59, has a b16 swapped EF, one of the cleanest around (usdm front end wise) and is in the process of making it faster....

    Asshat, I missed the alternator charge wire! I didn't fully connect it because I didn't want it to break in the event I had to drop the motor, again...

    As for the minor oil leak...that's a defect in the gasket from Honda. I've not had that problem anywhere else before...

    What about the axle

    There was no way to pop that back in without pulling it out

    I was trying to tell you and your manager that. There we go not listening to me because I just so happen to look Black thanks Ben, I thought you were cooler than the other side of the pillow

    a link to the history of b16...it will tell you a lil bout the intake manifold as to how u describe it as unless they went through all the trouble to change the intake manifold.....!

    i was told, he won the auction through ebay, getting his son his first car, and wifey financed a 03 si hatch, so he was selling the whole car, for $800, so i only wanted the motor,, so $400 i take it out...!

    incase u's didnt know, look at the picture JDM_EK4 post dup, the vtec sol is smaller then the one thats on my motor, cause why, ITS JDM lol

    What to look for

    Japanese market (JDM) B16A motors are labelled with a "B16A" stamp. There is NO suffix (e,g, B16A2 or B16A3) like the US, Asian or European counterparts. Hence it isnt easy to tell just by looking at the block stamp.

    I have in my possession a JDM B16 Head sir with the Intake Manifold and I can quote if not point out the difference between the 2 and to take it up a notch, I also have a B16A2 Head and I can tell you all about it.

    ummmm.....as to some people on here thinking they know too much, as i title this thread..... Picking Up A Complete OBDO B16 Motor....DUHHH....there's no OBDO b16 in the usa....and duhhh......its stamped B16A....on the block........and duhhhh its a jdm motor, the one with 160 hp.....and duhhh....there is a jdm b16a obd1 with 170 hp.....hahaha lol...!
