Guy was doing...what...hanging out the roof?

Alan, I don't mind slowing it down. In fact...I purposly slow down at certain points to make sure we don't lose people. But I hate highway travel.

For example, I went to Auburn two or three weeks ago. made it in just over an hour from Woodstock. It's about an hour-forty-five minute drive. I tapped 120 and held it most of the way there. When I'm on the interstate...it's cuz I got somewhere to be...

But yeah, tell your old man to drive the speed he wants. We're NOT gonna lose people.

Hell...it may not be a half-bad idea to get radios...

radios sound good, 1 for the leader, another for the middle, and another for the tail.

or maybe just the tail and the front, because they usually come in sets of two.

i'll look into that. ik there's some homies i know that have their "hook-ups"

Tell people to grab some. I'll probably get a good pair on my next paycheck. Cuz I've been wanting to get some for a little while, anyways.

And more than just one for nose, and one for tail. Cuz if the tail gets too far from the nose...it's pointless to have 'em.

Ya Guy was taking pictures out of his sunroof, both him and his passenger. I almost freaked out when I saw him outside his car right before a turn, then I saw his passenger was driving.

You guys were going pretty fast, it seemed that every time I got to a stop you guys were already there for a while. I know before my cooling problem I was hanging in the back. But afterwards I was pretty much up with Alan and his dad until the gas station.

    As crazy as that sounds.

Man you know me and A-Ran don't travel without each of us having a radio! lol

We go through batteries like nobody's business though.

Don't worry about losing us in the mountains, i highly doubt that's going to happen.

Well, I tend to know those roads pretty well, and I tend to challenge them. Plus, I like to challenge my car. And I know people will catch up...

Even if you drive uber-slow, you won't be lost...no worries. We go a few miles and slow down, or pull off to let people catch up.

we're not worried about loosing people in the mountains, it's just on the way up there.

    radio's will prevent that.

Can't remember if we said what route we're going to take, so...
We are doing the same route as the last meet right?

If so, no matter what I can't get lost. I've ran that route some many times its almost burned into my head. I love revisiting places.

They only way we'll lose people on the highway is if they get caught in traffic and the leaders don't notice. We'll just need to keep tabs on the newer people while going up to Dahlonega.

I think we'll be alright. And yes...likely the same route. However...I MAY change some of it to EXTEND the route if anyone else would be interested in it...?

    Extension?
    What you got in mind?
Head towards Cleveland or Blue Ridge? Other than those I have no idea.

And just remember that we'll have to change the schedule around for the longer mountain run.

Exactly...it's a matter of if people have that extra time to run...

I don't know the exact route. I'll have to run it again to rememeber the roads, but it wasn't too difficult. But it takes us right up into Helen...then back to Dahlonega.

Going up to Helen...only route I know is to take GA-75.
To come back we could take GA-348 north and we would come out at GA-180.
But thats like a 50 minute drive.

If you're going back up to plan a route I'd love to join.

True, true. But, that chase cam setup was untested and had spent a lot of time in poorly padded bag and on a V8 first gen RX-7 racecar with a lot of vibration.

This time I'm using my video camera mounted to a homemade mount that attaches to my headrest. I've already used it to tape about a half dozen DE session and one autocross. So, I KNOW this will work.

    **** speed ratings.

Focus more on treadwear. Lower treadwear goes out faster, but sticks better.

I appreciate my Proxes4's, but for a heavier car...hmmm. I mean you can try the P4's. You DID have two of mine for a little while...

contrary to popular belief, speed ratings have nothing to do with grip, and i doubt you'll ever be going 160+ in your volvo for an extended amount of time...

Like, Evasive said, stick with treadwear as the typical guide. There are exceptions however, the BFG G-Force Sport has a treadwear of 340, but manages to grip just as well as an RT-615 Azenies in dry weather.

So do your research, naturally, I'd recommend the BFG tire. (I'm a huge fan)
