    Default Painting tips?

Just got my compressor and spray gun. I'm a pure noob to laying down paint, so anyone feel free to give me some pointers, such as how much paint will be needed, ratios to mix paint/condenser clear/hardener, Sanding steps? Thanks in advance!

Since you probably don't have a booth, it'd probably be a good idea to wet the floor where you're painting to trap some dust. It'd also be a good idea to make your own makeshift booth.

sand down the clear coat with 1500 wet sandpaper..... the paint you can either mix it half paint/ half reducer depending on how thick the paint is.... most clears are 4 to 1(meaning 4 clear and 1 hardener) tape first all the edges and then on top put the paper... will you be using newspaper????

Also What color are you planing on painting? If its a silver or something with a lot of pearl or flake you might not want to start with a color thats difficult to spray for your first paint job.

Rule number one! Take your time even a cheap garage paint job can look decent but 75% of a great paint job is in the prep work this is also the part that takes the most time. If you dont have a clue how to work a gun and lay paint talk to someone who does. And about mixing them paint some paint brands are diffrent ratios pick up a few mixing cups to help you with this part. Also I like to use all the same brand if im laying down a ppg base coat I want to use there brand of clear.Yes some guys mix and match But some are not compatable together. I could go on and on But do your research and have a Idea of what your doing before you even start the prep work and way before touching a paint gun.

Laugh at his tips but they sure get the job done!

You don't always need a paint booth for a 99% perfect paint job. Mine was painted b4 the shop could afford the paint booth so if you need some help hit crazydelsol up.

Going for a blueish-green color. Yea I'm not doing this alone, i will be getting advice from a painter, but i will be doing 100% of the work. Its a learning experience for me, so just trying to learn a few tips that may help me
