Default Tinted my taillights with model car window tint, turned out exactly the way i wanted

I was reading a diy on a civicforums.com and thought i would try it myself. all together spent $27, opposed to the $250 or more any shop wanted to charge me. I think it came out perfect, no complaints. I def. recommend doing this yourself before you take it to the shop and spend a couple hundred more than you need to.

    I bought this stuff.
    I Ordered it from www.Testors.com
The part # for the tint is [ RC294 ]
The part # for the clear coat gloss is [ 1961]

Here is the link to the diy i followed
    http://www.civicforums.com/forums/7-...-pictures.html

searched the site for any kind of diy smoking or tinting your tails and couldnt find one. here is my car after i finished, shitty camera phone pics, ill post some good ones later today

Do you realize that a can of Nightshade is 12.99 at Summit or anywhere else and works great for this?

Don't have much time on my hands, especially not enough to drive to summit for tint.... saw this, it was under $30 and gave me what i was looking for.

Thanks 3000gt20s, real pleased with how it turned out

Turned out nice bro, but I'm with Motivation. I picked up a can of Nite Shades at Advanced Auto for 8.99. Which gave me the ability to determine how dark or light I wanted my tails!!!! But like I said earlier they did turn out nice!!!!!!

Yeah I used four coats of the tint, and two coats of gloss... .I wanted more of the flat look so i didnt use much gloss, and for them to look like clear coat, get some 1200 grit sand paper, sand it well. Then buff and wax, it will look like they came factory tinted. My bro did this and turned out great too....

Well a good rinse with an acetone base will clean the tint off if you have any run-ins with the law. Will take the tint right off with no problems. It will look 100% original, with no modification.

With tint though, if they pull you over...you can rip it off right there and avoid a ticket. Then retint them since it is so cheap.

You're retarded. It's not "perfectly legal" and if someone were to rearend the fuck out of you, you'd be at fault. With that said, I need my front bumper repainted, so I waiting to find a good candidate with tinted tail lights so I can bump them and get their insurance to pay for it.

I think it's stupid to tint headlights and taillights but it's your car. Why reduce your visibility and make your car a little harder to see when you are braking?

Depending on the amount of coats and supplies used, the lights are generally bright enough to still be safe.

orileys carries nigh shades, its about 13 a can. bought some today, the last can actually, in mcdonough. we also sell a 360 led smd bulb. it shows as bright as your stock bulbs through the tinting process.
