i used an a/c compressor bolt, super easy and fast. then i didnt put that bitch back in, used a bolt and a locking nut, easier to take it out next time and more secure for me, had a buddy that his bitch pin fell out in the middle of the road lol

You can do it the proper way by purchasing a 5/16" Roll pin punch, or 8mm roll pin punch. It self centers it on the pin, and pushes it out perfectly.

Dont use a bolt, as it will lead to a terribly sloppy shifter feel- try the roll pin punch out you will love it

Use the correct size bolt and it will feel fine.

I've never done this outside of the car either cuz that would mean you have to take off the motor/tranny with the linkage and shifter assembly...seems like more work than less. I would imagine it would be somewhat cumbersome to try and get the c clamp on there with the socket and the little push pin all at once. I just use a drift pin punch....they are like less than 5 dollars and works every time.

I have never done one outside the car.

If you have a c-clamp weld a small rod on to the foot then it is easy.

I've used the punch and also a spare ac bolt.

All while laying under the car.

you know the only reason you replaced your with a bolt is becouse you lost yours,,, stick with the pin its better, honda put it there for a reason and the reason your friends fell out is probly bcouse he always goin around power shiftin and missin gears, and wore it out.
