I've done the Pot O' Gold rush twice. Good event, not because it's organized and smoothly run (which it struggles in those departments) but because there are SO many people/cars there and it's just a fun atmosphere

The fun atmosphere pervades all of our events. But, I will grant the Road Atlanta is a tough event for us because of it's popularity. We have been trying some things to help some of smoothness issues. Although, last year the tornadic weather didn't help a damn bit.

    Which car were you driving?

Well to be honest, the "smoothness" of the events didn't bother me at all. I had great fun and wish I was free this year.
I was driving an E36 M3. Now that I remember, I need to renew my membership.

Cool. Were you racing, TTing, or driving in one of the HPDE groups?

This year should be interesting with the car show and what not.

I was doing HPDE's. This was a quite awhile ago. My first track day was a Pot O' Gold rush.

The car show just makes it that much more fun. I really want to do it but i'm all the way in Baton Rouge in school these days and my car has no motor in it right now and may not be finished by then.. URGGG!!! tempting.

We have a total of four Road Atlanta dates this season. So, there will be other opportunities.

Awesome. I will be attending at least one with Nasa this year. Hopefully as a new instructor if I take that class at Roebling IIRC.

Which class at Roebling? We don't have a Roebling date this season, unfortunately.

Stinks. I'm not sure my family friends says it's time I take it and he said it's normally held at Roebling by you guys. I'm sure you could fill me in much more so then my family friends as they became instructors back in the 90's and don't know much about getting certified today. He did however say
"it's time you take that instructor clinic through NASA, it's normally held at Roebling Road." I told him I was looking into it but I hadn't really looked into it much.

I'm really not sure why the C5 are TTB. Usually, tires are what usually pushes the car to TTA. IIRC, the time trial base classes are loosely based on power to weight ratios with the stars being used to balance the classes. A better explanation might be provided by contact Greg Greenbaum, the national TT director. His contact info should be at nasaproracing.com.

Yeah, I'm a little bummed that we're not going to Roebling this season, but that was out of our control.

Check our schedule at the NASA-Southeast web site, there should be a listing beside each date showing what sessions are being offered. It looks like the last opportunity for Instructor Clinic 1 will at Road Atlatna in March. You can always e-mail registration and see what they have to say, though.

Yeah. It LS1 vette (not Z06) with coilovers, sways, T1 exhaust, CCW's with hoosiers, brake pads/lines/rotors/brake ducts, intake, and steering wheel, race seats, and roll bar. It has full interior.

    Im sure its TTA

Wow. That sounds like it could be into TTS, actually. You'd have to run the points and likely get a dyno sheet. But, I'm not a TT expert. I can put in touch with the people you need to talk to for getting the classing correct.

Will do. Won't make the March event, will probably have to wait until ya'll have another summer event. No rush, although I went from doing roughly 8-10 events a year to now about 4-6 because of my schedule load. Hope I don't get rusty!!! hahaha just playing.
