i'm more of a fan of the TL's than the CL's. i think the TL's come with just a little more HP to the wheels as well.
you can do it, but the ls or gsr will allow a high top end and better gas mileage. the b16 is a short geared tranny. which is why its always used for all motor builds. so having a boosted ls/v with a b16 trans is gonna have you top out at like 125mph. and with the power being made out of a boosted motor, you will do thru the gears like crazy. even 250hp will slam thru gears pretty quick.

actually its not that bad i made 400 hp on a b16 with a b16 tranny and my trap speed was 116 in the quarter mile thru 4th gear and my new set up will make 500 with a b16 transmission and will do just fine and for the street it won't be a problem. just change the final drive if your worried about gearing and as far as topping out at 125 my car topped out further than the speedo would read witch is 140 i think i would have to look at a b16 cluster but i buried it several times hope this is helpful. and i'm jody jordan

this is the thread for my turbo kit stover posted up but i have other stuff not listed also we haven't had the time to put on there. i made 400 hp on 19 lbs on a b16. it would make alot more on a bigger motor gsr or ls/vtec . i had the black 2000 si last year it may ring a bell anyway let me know if your interested

really? are you serious? i think i know what tranny i have i mean me and stover did build my car lol and as for mike "vteckidd" he has a type r tranny and his car will do over 120 but on a factory type r ecu it has a speed limiter of 120. maybe you should try something befor you tell someone not to do something that you have no idea what your talkin about

mike has a chipped ECU and can go faster than 120...my type r is stock as a rock and can go 140 if i take off the speed limiter.
B16a tranny has great gears for a drag car, if you are using 24.5 inch tires or larger...other than that you will have a shorter maximum speed yes, but it will still go faster than 120 definitely. Its all about tire sizing and calculating what you can rev too as to how fast you can go in each gear.

i was using 120 as a reference point. i know the b16 on the average build of street cars, which i say will have a redline around 8k, will not have the top end like the ls or gsr. it will give better accel. but will lack top end.
most of what i've seen out of a b16 trans, running say, 205-55-15 tires, i wouldn't give the b16 to go past around 130 or so. thats with a untouched trans.
and i was using mike as a example since i did he him post saying he couldn't go past 120 or so.
