WTF is going on with the gasket around the timing chain? It looks like it is inside the block instead of on top of it.

anyways, thats how it was when the head was pulled off apparently the previous owner broke it or something and crammed it down in there and sealed the rest of the head up with RTV silicon stuff - which slowly started to fail

there'd be NO way those cars would hold traction - this car weighs 3200lbs w/o the driver and breaks loose easy enough - I've spun the tires pinning the tach @ 6k up into 3rd gear - its a crazy sonuvabitch engine

and kyle, pussy or not, my car is still faster

    No thanks.

    Hopped up M10, or E30 M3.

With the 510 and 240z you just throw a v8 in it and your good to go. Honestly I wouldnt put that motor/drivetrain in anything but another starion.

You won't catch me putting a Starion engine or a V8 in mine.

    V8 = nose heavy
    Starion engine = blasphemy

My Nissan will have a Nissan engine in it. Still not sure which one, but one of them lol!

That would be crazy.....but if it was true I would think that you or someone you know would have been able to confirm it. Starquest owners are a niche group of people, and something like that would get around fast I would think.

People have swapped damn near everything into a 510. I have seen rotary's (duh), a shit ton of different Nissan engines (including one guy that put a VG30dett out of a Z32 300ZX Twin Turbo in his ), a 4.3litre Chevy V6 with twin turbos, and even one with an F20C out of an S2000. People are nuts LOL!

hmm, rumors are true - at least in Australia someone has been sucessful (since at least 2004!!! ). I know there was a member ont he board who was going to attempt it back a few years back, then the drift craze hit, sr20's went up in price, and he dropped in a 4g64. Still tho.. hmm

When he did the swap, the engine and drivetrain wasn't the only thing he swapped from a 300ZX.

still doesn't mean he couldnt have put some kickass 5lug rims....

on a side note, today was an ultimate failure - me and 2 starquest buddies all planned to going to tunerfest... they all ended up in my driveway along with my car cause of various problems and we took the a/c'd 4Runner instead

STOP HIJACKING MY THREAD! lirl - hmm, I'll eventually wil have to just make a new thread just for a timeline purpose

I almost bought them in 04 and 05, i wanted to so bad, i just am sure that by now even the black one that runs is going to need a good run through to be right again. Not that they wouldn't be good project cars, but you better have time on your side!

Oh and nice shell man, im glad to see that after the wreck you kept your car and made another one, starions and conquests are the shit!
I tried to send a PM but apparently your box is full!
Kalifornia087 has exceeded their stored private messages quota and can not accept further messages until they clear some space.

Can you describe how the black one ran in more detail? Did it buck? Did it act like it wasn't getting gas or maybe too much gas?

More detail please! I'm looking into getting them both here soon and want to get an idea of what I'm getting myself into with them!

    Thanks!

oh yea folks - stage 3 is coming up... that engine is being yanked out, turbo is being put on another engine that just needs a timing chain tensioner and oil pump, built engine gets torn down and rebuilt, with the MPI ( I have most of the setup already - EP3sAreFun also has the same setup ) and the non-built engine will be put back into this car and soon followed up by the MPI switch out
