Every time I've had my car towed for whatever reason(shut up on the Rx-7 reliability jokes) I"ve run straps through the stock front tow hooks, and the rear tow hooks and had them fully tensioned, that way it is pulling taught along the y-axis, at an anchoring point across a sturdy frame, and not flimsy body panels, or sensitive suspension components.
