And why is people trying to be "funny" by associating the term "hard" with hondas?!? It's a "slang" term that I incorporated in my vocabulary that means something looks aggressive. *palms head*
I have seen plenty of "track" CRXs with wings.
An example J's Racing CRX
Another example is Hasport's CRX

So I don't really know what you're trying to get at?!?![]()
I don't consider Auto crossing racing so i don't see what you did there.
Track to me is off the street in a sanctioned event.
I really don't care about the vocab you use. I won't ever be using it so don't worry.
Anyways, there are plenty of SCCA/NASA classes where wings wouldn't be allowed.
The J's and Hasports car is run in time attack events which have very few regs so its a run what you brought show.
Lets also put emphasis on what i've actually seen in real life and they look like this. I'm not saying there aren't other versions but the majority look like so.

Did you not notice the pics were from Sebring? A racetrack
So the "track" crxs in real life, without wings your referencing to are autocross cars??? Your confusing me. Did you read the link, those pictures are from it going out at Sebring, not a parking lot. Happen to see where he stated that he was building it for "time attack"??
BTW when did building a "Track" car have to conform to any rule/regulations? A "Race" car, yeah sure. See what I did there?
My first trip to Sebring will be the 2010 12 Hour so I've never seen the paddock before.
I think people are misunderstanding what i wrote in the last part for something else.
I clearly wrote this, "I'm not saying there aren't other versions but the majority look like so."
With that, I was clearly stating that there are a wide variety of other race courses (such as Sebring/RA) that CRXs, (winged or otherwise) are being built for. In fact, there are plenty of RWD CRXs as well.
I was just saying that for what i have seen, the majority of CRXs at Autocross events (not time attack events) are restricted to not using wings because of the class the fall under. This is a statement relating to what i have actually seen in person. There are obviously ones (including autocross) that use some sort of wing/spoiler if the class so allows.
To add, you people keep saying that i think Autocross and Time attack are the same thing but..... Iin a way, they are.
In a time attack, the cones are replaced with chicanes, hairpins, and bends. But it's still a race against the clock.
Otherwise, why wouldn't a WRC tarmac stage be considered a time attack? IT WOULD!
Consider this, a rally event is run around a route closed to other traffic on what can be public roads. The event has a number of cars being timed over the same distance with the same obstacles in the form of corners. It is the same exact thing.
The argument of a rally not counting because it isn't held on a race track won't work either because on many occasions, rallies have incorporated proper road courses as one of the special stages. Silverstone and Brands Hatch are examples.
You people are looking at the words too deeply and associating them with trends. Time Attack is a time attack. Not what Super Street wants it to be.
On most occasions actually. Especially regs related to safety. Most people build a car for a certain class of racing for the competition. This goes across the board for road coarse or drag strips. No one wants to build a car and only be allowed to participate in a test and tune. For the matter of the SCCA, there is usually a class for anything but you must make sure your class will fit in before you show up.
I love how people try to flip the script
Slow_hatch actually pretty much summed up everything for me. So no point on beating a dead horse. That's why I only focused one part of your post
You took the time to quoted someone's post like you're trying to cosign their "attempt" to be funny. Then when I pointed you out on it, you "don't care". Just seems like kinda of hypocritical.
Anyways I'm done with it. Have fun with your response.
I posted a picture of gutted CRX with a wing (that actually get put on a track) and I get so much negativity. Someone post a Hondas with 15x10in rims 0 offset, -10 camber, slammed with a built turbocharger GSR (oxymoron isn't it) and it get 10 pages of props. Ironic isn't it![]()
Yes. I flip the script "hard." (I think)
Anyways, me and slow hatch decided to discuss this through pms since neither he nor i understood each other and felt a back and forth on here would waste space. He and I are on the same page now.
Is the hypcritical part about Simon's post? BabyJ's post? Your post or someone else's? Please clarify as i have quoted quite a few people.
