I'll first say that this is a very stupid thread.
But anyways, Donks are stupid. People driving them are a hazard on the road. Many times the raised suspension have no way of compensating for the extra rotational mass and many more times, the wheel studs could snap from the load.
Bimmerforms member had a close encounter of the multi-spoke kind while driving down I-880 near San Jose, CA. The wheel apparently fell off another vehicle going in the opposite direction on the freeway, hit the center divider and flew into the air, landing with a tremendous amount of force onto the roof of kpipalldaway2's incredibly clean M3. Judging by the lack of damage to the rest of the vehicle, he was able to pull off the road safely, but even more amazingly, he only suffered a broken shoulder and some cuts from the broken glass. While it's sad to see such a pristine example destroyed by such a gaudy piece of rolling stock, it gets worse. The M3 driver was on a basketball scholarship and his broken shoulder may have put an end to his game days.

Not really. Majority of SUV/SAV drivers don't go off road at all. No Cadillac was SOLD to go offroad. Thats what the Avalanche was made for.

The donks just don't look safe to me. Especially since the mirrors and window layout of the car weren't designed for that ride height. Visibility has to be shit. Also the diameter of those wheels/tires would really make your gears super tall, the center of gravity would prevent quick obstacle avoiding without roll over, and the rotational mass would be hell on the brakes and drivetrain. I mean when peple say "why do you like imports but hate on donks?" I think they're failing to realize it isn't just my taste, but it's a serious loss of function that turns me off the most. At least an import with a few mods can still be a great DD.
