Looks like a photoshopped Genesis coupe with the sedan front end.

I like it.![]()
I keep looking at it...
I was looking at a bunch of pictures of the coupes and thinking about how gay the grill looked and then this one popped up. I think the different grill is what caught my eye.
I suppose that front is a little bulky and such, and the colors off, but i think hyundai should have gone with a larger front grill on the front.
One for comparision:

I definitely like the coupe front end more.
I think the 4drs grill is a bit too luxury for the coupe.
On the other hand, these Korean market cars looks ace. I can't wait to see the coupe in person.
True, the grill draws to much attention to itself which is a luxury car feature.Originally Posted by Nerdsrock22

A little bit lighter touch on that grill would really make that car work.
i like the bigger one better![]()
ooooo i <3 eet! thats awesome! i'm a sucker for a genesis though lol
That looks like ass

I can just see Nissan Z sales going down because of this car.
Big congrats to Korea for finally getting it right.
The Z has already faltered big in the styling department.Originally Posted by Slow Motion
I have yet to see a single negative on the Genesis.
Even the out going Z had what i considered was a terrible execution of an interior. The Genesis on the other hand looks very nice.
This will make a few jaws drop but i wish the new Z was more like the new Genesis.
Oh well. We will see when the cars get their chance against each other.
Somehow, I seriously doubt it'll come up to the 370Z's level. I think it'll be a good match for the 350Z, but Nissan has already moved on.Originally Posted by EJ25RUN

Id prefer the sedan also.. ive never been big on coupes.... other than the G35's.
The hp rating of the Genesis coupe is comparible to that of the 370Z...cuz that's comparible to the G37...which has the motor and similar tuning as the 370Z. The Genesis coupe has been compared to teh G37 already (because it has back seats and similar silouhette is my guess). Model for model, the Genesis holds its own. Those that were stretching themselves to get a Z because they wanted that type of car will probably feel comfortable with the Gen Coupe. Add to that Hyundai finances EVVV REEE WUNNNNN and it makes it a strong competitor. Z lovers will still be Z lovers (even if the 370 looks like poo-poo kaka right now, it'll grow on us), but Z buyers who bought the Z simply becuase they wanted an affordable RWD sporty coupe may sway to the less expensive model. Especially given the economy. And all those who'd swing contently on the Z's nutz but can't afford one (i.e. most of those in hs and early college) will probably jump to the Hyundai camp. IMO, Hyundai is going to take a big chunk of the market up with this.Originally Posted by Atlblkz06
How many people have been wanting a RWD sports coupe for a while now. I kick myself for selling my 03 Z, but I needed a back seat. I'm WAITING to get a G35 (read: can't afford). If I wasn't already dead set on an 05 G35, I would get that coupe as a third car. Has everything I want in both the V6 and 4cyl turbo applications. And being a 3rd car (like the G will be), I don't have to keep all the unneccessary weight and safety stuff that my main cars need for family and can track it like i want and modify like want. It's really a perfect setup. And I think they start in the teens. Realistically, I could probably get a new Hyundai with a few options for the price of a used G35 w/ 50k or so miles. Financially, it makes better sense....
WHOA!!! i ALMOST talked myself into buying one. I gotta slow down. but, you get my (long, drawn out over-typed) point.
Pssssssft!!!! Zoom Zoom BOOM!!!!
Well yea I guess I was kinda ignoring the price point which is Hyundai's main strong point. RWD cars are making a big comeback, and I'm glad the whole FWD bandwagon times are over.Originally Posted by neon_guy
Hyundai is here to stay, and if they continue on the path they're on they'll have some serious heavy-hitters in the market with the reputation to back them up.
Its too bad Daewoo and Kia couldnt up their game and survive.
The white one on the end with the black housing headlights is sick.Originally Posted by Nerdsrock22

That being said, I would be much more interested in the turbo 4, presuming its a good rev-happy motor. I have never been impressed with a Hyundai 4, but I'm hoping the Genesis boys can get it right.
Only thing to worry about is the new Yota/Suby project...

If the coupe didn't have random dips, it would look better.

Keep in mind that big reason for that is Hyundai finally making the effort to set themselves apart as an automaker.Originally Posted by cgEvan

damn that does look good!
so the big question is .....
if you were going to buy one would you go with the turbo 4 or NA 6??????
Turbo 4. My reasoning is that the motor can probably handle a good bit of power stock. Not to mention I am sick and tired of slow na motors.Originally Posted by CH@Dbee

I think Korea is going to steal some z sales. I don't think G's will suffer much though. But, hp is competitive, the Hyundai looks better than the new Z to me (and everyone with working eyes), and the car is done right. Coupe is sexy. I might snag a used one in a few years for my son. Well, it'll be for me, but I'll say it's for him and he'll be happy.
