old wheels = look nice

old wheels = rubbing on fenders, no passangers, and no fast turns and slow over bumps

new wheels = fast turns, passangers, no rubbing and not a nice "clean" look...witch is wut im going for

Yeah +20s on the Miata would be a mean stance. The +35 isn't too bad. You could put oversized rubber (225s or so?) on it (as long as it doesn't rub your struts) and it'd fill the fender well. Don't worry about the haters, they just don't know function > form.
