EJ25run, i will say that you are very accurate when you say the car drives itself, and does all the work for you, so to speak. however, with that in mind and having push a gtr to the limits personally, i still havent hade an experience like that in my life. I could only focus on the speed and how the gtr ate the corners for breakfast, stopped like it was never moving and accelerated with zero effort. I would be afraid of tracking this car as i dont think i have the skill to control it, even while its doing the work. but nonetheless good point.
    Yeah, I know.

sorry, but this car is a beast, not because of the hype, but because it truly is. for the price you get a supercar, capable of whatever you can throw at it, i hardly think this car will be taken lightly, especially after i walked every car that tried me when i was driving it.
Im really tired of the people that think a cars overall performance is narrowed down to highway pulls.

Or is this a road coarse??????

GTR is not one of them.

Most of those cars were made pre 1980 with a few exceptions.

    Example. Porsche 917

actually it was just one car that tried me, a honda fit, but it was the fit sport.

    j/k

all bs aside, two cars, a Z06 and a g35, albeit neither of the two stood a chance, the z06 hung with me for a second or two. i am by no means a skilled or experienced driver, i just put the pedal to the floor and pulled on the guy.
    Yeah, I know.

highway pulls? are you kidding me? thats where the car is the WEAKEST, you know as well as i do this is a track car, and im a honda guy.

Im not a nissan fan, i like my hondas and when it comes to hp i love street rods more than anything, but im not gonna bash the gtr when i know for a fact that from the factory it will own most cars, and thats without tuning, just imagine.
    Yeah, I know.

No i'm not kidding you. Just look at the kills forum.

This vid gives a good demo where a GTR falls short. Watch at 4:20 min.

are you trying to impress me with the way the gt-r performed in that video? im confused because it seemed to do pretty damn good for a car priced similiar to an nsx.

Actually it was more on how the GTR weight hurts it. Yes the NSX never was great on price but compare how it tackles the coarse despite being longer than the GTR. But yes, overall, GTR did well.

I did see that, and exactly what you are talking about when it comes to weight. that is one thing i would say is its downfall, but nonetheless, a performer.

oh, and btw im staring at two that came off the truck a few minutes ago, still in the plastic, man these cars are sex.

LOL look at what i started.

im gonna have to agree with ej25 in saying that mechanicals > electronics. the gtr drives itself. what is fun about that?

the cars that stand out the most to me are the ones where driver skill actually matters. i like actually driving my cars, not going or a disneyland ride.

After reading this thread, I can't believe how many haters this place is crawling with. I personally think the new GT-R looks terrible, but I do like it's rims and front lip. Yet it's an awesome car all around. No matter what people throw at it, you can't say it's a piece of metal that should be thrown in the junkyard. Even if some of you say it's not that big of a deal and what-not, you'll jump in the car in a heart beat if the driver asked you if you wanted a ride.

NissanTuner, nice picture man. I'm sure it looks insane in person.

nobody said it was a hunk of metal that belongs in a junkyard...? saying that it doesnt really excite me isnt an insult to the car at all, its my opinion. and no ****, i would take a ride in it. i would take a ride in ALOT of cars, and theres not many i would say no to.

and youre contradicting yourself by saying its ugly but then saying it probably looks insane in person. so wtf are you trying to say?

Who the hell was talking to you? Like so many cars, they always end up looking better in person then they do in pictures which is why I said 'I'm sure it looks insane in person.' I don't know what you've said in this thread nor do I desire to know.

coming from someone who has not driven a gt-r, please bro, you mean to tell me that your car would be more fun to drive? your a damn retard if you say yes. the gt-r still utilizes driver control and will not be forgiving if you dont know what you are doing.

I wonder if technological advances have anything to do with the gt-r's design.
pic your favorite vehicle and in 5 years it will do all the work for you too. who the phuck cares if its not a manual, who cares if the suspension damping is adjustable at the flick of a switch. the car is badass, and those who say otherwise are ignorant. if the car sucked, all the reviews would say so.

Here is what i love about driving, speed, cornering, and braking. how i achieve those is pretty phucking irrelevant.
    Yeah, I know.

I guess I should've said, 'After browsing through it,' huh? I also only read some posts from EJ25RUN, who seems to be the only person in this thread with any form of intellect. Your posts consist of nothing but babble. You came at me like I was personally attacking your opinion. You also said something like, 'Look what I started' like we all owe you for the spark that ignited this thread into another, who hates and who likes the new GT-R thread.

i care if its a manual and if it has adjustable suspension, is that a problem?

it is a badass car and it is very fast, but i have my own opinion about it and dont give half a **** about what the reviews say.

well if i came off that way im sorry, but nothing i said was meant offensively in any manner. and i was just LOLing at the fact that one comment saying that i dont care much for the gtr sparked this whole huge ass b!tchfest, its kinda funny to me.

please enlighten me on how your car, with its suspension, is sitting right now.
what your "track settings" are, and what manufacturer makes your suspension.

also, how much hp do you need before holding on to the steering wheel becomes more important than shifting?
    Yeah, I know.

LOL who said anything about my car? i dont have adjustable suspension, i have eibach lowering springs and kyb shocks that came with the car. but im working on that. hows your car?

and i dont think your second statement is very applicable, considering LOTS of race cars with WAY more power than the r35 are manuals. actually, the only time ive seen an automatic race car was a drag car or this one lexus that ran in grand am for a while. but they still used the tiptronic system...

ok, so its fairy tail time.

im gonna give you a nismo Z
Or, at your discretion, im gonna give you a gt-r

now, if you tell me you would take the nismo because its more "mechanical" then i will just do you a favor and never take you serious again.

As for my car i just sold, the Si, i had buddy club 15-way adjustable coilovers, with 9/10k springs at a progressive rate. camber correction, yada yada yada. settings were 0 deg toe in the front/-1 rear camber -1.2 front -.8 rear (car has pronounced understeer and this is the only way to combat that) rear shocks 9 clicks in/ front struts 4 clicks in.

now, that being said the car was a six speed. i loved driving it, and it handled great! but im sorry, the ride was nothing, and i do meen nothing like a gt-r.
    Yeah, I know.

I wouldn't take the Z for many other reasons besides the transmission. And what you just brought up is matter of personal preference. Something I decide on.

    Here's a better comparo to twist the brain. A good shape R34 GT-R or a R35.

I would have the R34 for all of the above factors......

So are we still on speaking terms?

As for my car i just sold, the Si, i had buddy club 15-way adjustable coilovers, with 9/10k springs at a progressive rate. camber correction, yada yada yada. settings were 0 deg toe in the front/-1 rear camber -1.2 front -.8 rear (car has pronounced understeer and this is the only way to combat that) rear shocks 9 clicks in/ front struts 4 clicks in.

now, that being said the car was a six speed. i loved driving it, and it handled great! but im sorry, the ride was nothing, and i do meen nothing like a gt-r.
well, thinking realistically, i would probably take the gtr, sell it, and buy something different. i just dont really like the car all that much. sorry.

thats a pretty good setup on the Si as far as i can tell. its good to know that im not arguing with a moron lol. did you track/autocross it?
The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.

well, to be honest, no, i never tracked the car once! I just enjoy making a car capable of more than it was when i bought it. i think im a good driver, and i pushed the Si to its limits in the turns but i wish i would have tracked it at least once. but thats ok, im living vicariously through my buddy who does track his supercharged Si, lol

    Yeah, I know.

    Here's a better comparo to twist the brain. A good shape R34 GT-R or a R35.

I would have the R34 for all of the above factors......

So are we still on speaking terms?
good contrast my friend, point taken.
    Yeah, I know.

taking shots at grammar is like spitting out the infamous last words "gas mileage advantage" in a fight between honda and whatever other car there is.

    lameness.
    Yeah, I know.
