Damn. ^^
looks really, really nice.
I guess the 37k for the V8 is inline with other comparable cars?
As long as the price is right you got the 100k mile warranty and it looks great. debadge as needed.
Try 20k less. The Lexus/Benz/BMW V-8s all start at 55k or higher!! This is a relative bargain.Originally Posted by down_shift

Looks sorta like a s550 and a 550i and a RL mixed. But somehow it looks good. Nice find! Also the pictures from the car show are making it look even better!
Half the interior stuff they pulled off from high end vehicles. They took the idea of 17 speakers from Bently and Rolls Royce. Freaking a that's just so much sound.
I saw one on the road in Cumming yesterday, it's pretty slick.
Does it still have the best warranty on the market?
Regardless Id rock out with my cack out in that..
I been seeing them by the Hyundai office over by six flags! It's the best bang for the dollar at it starting price and it's ending price. Ain't the RL over 50k? for what?
Financial ownership doesnt really mean all that much.
Fiat owns Ferrari, Ford owns Volvo, GM owns Saab etc etc... It only matters so much.
Kia's philosophy is to sell super-cheap POS cars that break constantly. They rake in money by selling flimsy parts that cost as much as BMW parts. Interesting business model.
In my opinion Hyundai is actually trying to make decent cars and capture the market thats looking for "bang for buck". The cheap bastards of the bunch - and there are quite a few of those around!
Hyundai isnt a lightweight player either. They literally own the worldwide goods shipment industry, its quite scary.
Kia was a failed product line. They should just kill it and be done with it.
Hyundai Azera = Kia Amante; Sonata = Optima; Entourage = Sedona; Accent = Rio; Tucson = Sportage.
If they wanted to separate themselves so much, then why do they share so many platforms with Kia? If they admitted that they used the same cars, then they could gear their companies towards different markets and share a few platforms and work together like Acura/Honda, Lexus/Toyota/Scion, or Cadillac/Chevrolet. I understand that Fiat owns Ferrari, but they don't share the same vehicles and target the same audience, but maybe this is why they've come up with Genesis, I respect anyone that wants to separate themselves from Kia, my girlfriend did and we'll never go back.

I didnt know they were sharing platforms, thats news to me. Are they built in the same location? The platforms may be sound, but from what I know Kia cars have really cheap parts that wear out easily. They get you with the replacement cost for these cheap parts. Ultimately you end up paying big bucks on a super-cheap car.
Is this correct?
I'm not trying to argue with you. I'm just trying to figure out what their business model is.
Its my opinion that Hyundai is making an honest effort to compete with Honda and Toyota. Kia seems to be their attempt to scam folks who want a super-economy car.
Thoughts?
I agree about Kia being pretty horrible and overpriced when it comes to parts. I'm not sure if the cars are even built in the same factories either, but that isn't uncommon, most GM vehicles are built in different factories even if they share a platform as well.
I didn't mean for my statements to sound like I'm trying to bash anybody, I just really hate Kia and their overpriced parts.
As far as a business model, it seems like Hyundai has much more going for it than a lot of companies, GM and Ford included. They definitely know what they're doing and seem to be moving towards a better product. Gearing their new concept, Genesis, after Mercedes and Rolls is a great example.
If they could straighten out Kia, as a parent company, or try to move themselves further from the image of what Kia stands for, then they will definitely be contenders for some of the higher range of automobiles.
