Default HIN Night Shift Nashville CarbonGS & Rollininstyle2004's Documentary

Well, it’s that time again! This time it is a Night Shift!

    Dates:
    July 25-27

    Events:
    HIN Night Shift - Nashville
    Import Alliance - Nashville

    Day 1! July 25th

The day started pretty early as I started to tape up my car for another road trip! I met up with a few friends from Team ELITE and Club Lexus. Automan (Mark) and two of his Alabama crew came over to join us on Operation Blue Tape! We tried to figure out Automan’s battery issues, which we later determined was due to a bad battery, and then rolled over to R2B2 Motors in Duluth, GA. (Please excuse the mess, they are renovating) We rolled pretty deep. We had a supercharged Lexus GS300, NA Lexus GS300, Volkswagen Passat 1.8t, NA Lexus SC300, Supercharged Acura TL, and a trailored turbo Toyota Supra. These pictures are a collaboration of CarbonGS and Rollininstyle2004’s pictures and documentary.

    Some final taping preparations

You know you like the creative HIN on the bumper lol

The ELITE crew that rolled down (Automan, Rollininstyle2004, CarbonGS)

The caravan on the way to our first destination - Hooter’s of Chattanooga

    Discount Fuel FTW!!!

Random cars we saw on the way up

    Random boat

    Got JDM?

    Supercharged TL

    Pit stop #1 for petrol

    The Supra on the truck

    And the rain set in…

We finally made it to Hooter’s of Chattanooga where we found VIP parking spaces

We all ate and met up with G-perz and 8MYCASH on SSI. Talked for a little bit and headed out for roll in

Traffic sucked bad. We had mad parkage on the highway

We are in TN, GA, then back in TN again!

Pretty scenic drive the whole way

Yes, this sign does say, “Falling Rocks”! Needless to say we got the heck out of there quick! Stayed in the 80’s the whole way through the mountains and that made for a few cool pics

Jordan and Mark went at it a couple of time, I kid, I kid!

Then my gas light came on so we all pulled in to get some more fuel

We arrived at the gates around 7:30 PM-ish. Had to sit outside to be classified and registered. This is what we looked like in the marshalling yard

More to come tomorrow from inside the show!!

Hitting up the town after roll in was definitely a treat. Nashville is a bright and vibrant city at night. It reminds me of Las Vegas with all of the neons, street performers, and high rise buildings. We managed to find a spot to park out 25 foot trailer truck!

Some of the attractions around us

The Hard Rock Café - Nashville

    LP Field

    Sommet Center

From inside the restaurant for dinner

We all went back to the hotel and got some rest for out long day ahead.

    Day 2

The day began early with breakfast downstairs.

Time for my famous GroatMeal! Yes, the infamous combination of grits and oatmeal.

    Mark’s reaction

    You know you want some!

After all the fun and games we headed over to the Music City Motor Complex. We were able to move the cars to a better parking position next to the National Guard booth. We started to clean our rides but were getting beat from the constant sun light. Time for a mini road trip to the local Wal-Mart for coolers and beverages!

    This is Ron riding “Dirty”

After getting a phone call Ron quickly went from “ridin dirty Ron” to “Pastor/Brother Ron”. That alone could have been the funniest moment of the whole trip! Mr. Slouchy sat straight up, straightened his hat, and changed his tone of voice to a serious one in a split second!

    Wally World

    Mark handling some business

    Our new coolers!

    Jordan got some Subway!

Do you have your game face on?

Our set up at the show

ELITE is set to be featured in the new Speed Channel HIN series TV show! The camera crew was out and filming previews of the cars.

Here’s a quick walk around of the show

We were next door to the model tent

Ron obviously suffering from heat stroke

Time to go say hi to the models

We will see them later on stage.

Mark and his daddy lol (Paul Tolsen)

Toya was there as well! She’ll be on stage later competing to be Miss HIN Nashville reppin it up for ELITE

We had to push the Supra over to the dyno tent.

Ron signing away the liability for the Valvoline Dynojet

Getting strapped down and hooked up

RJ Devera was the MC at the Valvoline booth

Ron got mad props from RJ for the Supra and the expected power goals

The first run registered 140 hp lol but this was at 18 pounds

It was actually a 491 hp run

The second run was 499 hp also at 18 pounds

We turned up the boost to 30 pounds this was the result 788 hp!

Needless to say we won the Dyno event. So what does that mean? More TV coverage of course!

More walking around the show after getting judged

The BoostMobile Stage and HIN Go Go Dancers

The TV crew came over to film the team

Jordan forgot his shirt. So, he was Tony for the hour

Toya was also getting ready for the HIN Model Search Competition

    Signing release forms

    Lights! Camera! Action!

Somehow I was cut from the whole deal but whatever. No need to dwell over it. At least my shirt was part of it. Congrats to Ron, Mark, and Jordan! I can’t wait to see what they did with the footage!

    Paul’s car

    Clean

    Crazy Mini with 2 motors!

    The model search competition

    DJ Hustle-Lin in the house!

    The hosts

Then the show got interrupted for a short concert

Mark was undergoing a culture shock

There was a Booty contest for a T-Shirt! Lol Dis for Duc (Duc) jumped on stage for this moment of fame!

    Awaiting results

    He wins! Lol

    Back to the ladies

Ron was awarded $500 from Valvoline for the dyno competition

    Awards were given out.

    Jordan - Hottest Wild Volkswagen
Mark - 5th place Wild Lexus
Ron - I don’t remember what you got

We headed out for roll out

Headed out to IHOP for dinner

We headed back to the hotel, but the parking lot is as far as we got. Mark’s ride was having issues. The bags weren’t filling with air. We had to leave the car there and decided to head back to the rooms to sleep and sort it out in the morning.

    Day 3

Ron went home the next morning and we all checked out at 11 AM.

Rolled over to IHOP where Mark’s car was.

This is what Mark’s car is sitting like, permanently for the moment.

We got started by getting a ½” plug for the tank in Mark’s car. We concluded at first that the left compressor had died and we wanted to make sure that the tank was still getting air from the right compressor. After we did that we noticed that there wasn’t much air at all in the tank.

We then concluded that the other compressor was on its way out of the door. We made a quick run to Home Depot and got ready to fabricate something makeshift for the tank to receive air from a normal air sourced compressor.

This is what Jordan and I came out with:

    Hose
    Valve opener/closer
    Fittings
    Adapters
    Pressure gauge
    Teflon Tape

    Me putting it together.

    Installed the gauge

Was able to find a Firestone close by and they were very helpful. Our little fabricated part worked the 1st time! Here’s the result!

So Jordan and I got ready to head home. Mark was ecstatic about the fix and was dying to get home as well. We all parted ways and it was time again for some rolling shots. This time = NO TAPE!

    Jordan’s ride back at home

    Mine too

All in all it was a great trip! See you all next time!
