how fast does the nova run?

this is really a retarded argument anyway. that Nova has boat loads of money into it, and the Metro you refer to was done in someones home garage and is a STOCK k20, not a twin supercharged v8 swap. Of course the Nova would have an advantage. imho both cars are insane sleepers. Though pulling up to either at a stop light i would expect a Nova to blow my doors off before i would a metro. But to each their own, I'd drive the hell out of that nova

best et to date at 9.680 @ 146.91 mph with plenty left in the car once some bugs are worked out

I take back what I said in my previous post. If he thinks one looks slower than the other, I cant prove that wrong. Yes, I was wrong. Yes, that was a stupid argument.

Ok, ill admit that maybe that was harsh but, i feel that most Honda people on this site still haven't a clue about most cars.

Not exactly true. I believe in cost effectiveness. That Metro could've been built cheaper and turned out way quicker with the same amount of money by going with a B series if they had to use a Honda powerplant. They could've did a B16 head + B20 bottom end and finished it off with a whole line of toga and/skunk2 parts and would have done the same if not better than that K20, which parts are quite pricey for. That K20 swap is a waste because of the money that was invested to make that thing run. You can scavage through all of my posts and I garunteed that you won't find anything that says that I hate hondas. To each is own but damn, be smart about making power. If you can spend less to make more, then that was a good financial decision and overall you have enough money left over to get more. Not just for bragging rights, like the guy in the Metro. I mean unless you like spending almost $10k for 250whp, be my guest. If you find that smart, then shame on you.

    K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.

that nova with a twin supercharged V8 ran a 9.68. with all that money dumped into that car just in the fuel system alone you would expect at least 8.00 sec runs or low 9. but 9.6 c'mon now.
now that NOVA is a waste of money in my book, cause if it was fast car around a track, and a 1/4 mile track it would be alright, but its american and its not a corvette so you now its not going to do good on turns. so back to the point all that money for just straight aways complete waist of money and time now thats my OPINION.

And just how much do you think it costs to build an 8 sec car?

    So your saying

American = not good around turns?
    Corvette = Sophisticated suspension?

If you dont know what your talking about, your opinion aint worth nothing.

    Now that's my opinion.

Well, if I am not mistaken, the 9.6 was on street tires, and they even said there is a lot more that they can get out of the car, but they need to work out some bugs.

They didn't build the car to make turns, so that argument is utterly pointless.

I love the Nova. Very unique. Buuuuut... I wouldn't classify that as a sleeper. I'm sure if you were standing next to that beast with the motor running you wouldn't be able to hear yourself think.... not to mention what others have already pointed out regarding its non-sleeper like appeal.

    WIKIPEDIA SAYS:
A sleeper is a car that has high performance and an unassuming exterior. Sleeper cars are termed such because their exterior looks little or no different from a standard or economy-class car (or in some cases worse due to seeming neglect on the owners part), but internally they are modified (or are built) to perform at higher levels. Some cars are equipped this way at the factory to suit the tastes of those who want performance without drama, whether understatedness suits their chosen image or lifestyle, or because they do not wish to attract undue attention of the police or car thieves. For instance, many high-performance sedans look hardly any different from the lower-powered models in the range; for example: the Acura TL Type-S, Audi RS4, BMW M3 and M5, Buick Regal GNX, Cadillac CTS-V, 1994-1996 Chevrolet Impala SS, Chrysler 300C SRT8, Dodge Charger SRT8, FORD TAURUS SHO, 2003-2004 Mercury Marauder,Volkswagen Passat W8, and Volvo S60R, among others. Cars with obvious external badging, or overt visual elements that give the impression of high performance, are not true sleeper cars.

IN -----MY----- OPINION. <---you got it, DUMB A$$. the OPINION part.

so let me try again. A car that just goes really fast in a staright line its ghey, stupid, and a WAIST OF MONEY. like that gay @$$ NOVA that has been posted as the ultimate sleepr like and trillion times.

its not a sleeper with a roll cage, with two superchargers, and those big a$$ tires on the back of that car. the noise that it would be making cause it has got to be camed would just give it away.

i bet if a MEXICAN still wet from the rio grande, that knows nothing about cars looks at that NOVA at a redlight he would say
    that car has some cojones.

now that is the way i think, and you cant change it, its just one of those things that dont affect others, no one can do anything about it. But if you would like to try just lmk. (take it how you want to take it.)

Your list says 1999 Cobra R... as I'm sure you know there wasnt a Cobra R in 1999, it was a 1993, 1995, and 2000 deal. Not trying to be a smartass or anything, just thought I'd point it out.

so let me try again.

The tires are 295s. the only reason you think they are "big ass" is because you drive a fuking honda with 195s. My car came factory with 275s on all 4 corners. I will have 315s in the rear soon. again, 295s are not big, especially when the car is making 1000hp.

not all cams hit a hard lick. Ever heard a turbo mustang that is cammed? You would never know it untill they stepped on the loud pedal.
