The subaru places function over form, it is rally inspired. Subarus define what looks good and what does not, when the 04 and 06 subarus came out people thought they were ugly, now people think they look nice. And I'm willing to put money on the new STI catching on
Subi looks better, drives better, turns better, fits more people in it better... handles better, drives faster, AWD, and did I mention faster?
Wait I think it gets better gas mileage too...
Oh and 300hp out of a v6 is not something you can really brag about....(btw you have 287 stock brand new)
The s2000 gets 240 out of a 2.4 I4, and the upcomming GTR gets ~480

oh and new 07 z has 307 hp. and 7500 redline, not bad for a sixer. new subie= ford focus, and it lost to the new evo in every comparison test.

Just to play my card, I gotta admit that I'd probably get the 350Z instead of the STi. The STi, in my opinion, is a very ugly car. Has been since the bug-eyed Sedan and is still today with the new STi station wagon.
The 350Z is simply a sleeker looking machine. Screw the odd door handles. It's a minor detail when looking at the overall lines of the car. 300ish HP out of an N/A V6 isn't bad, despite what you turbo boys want to say. Hell, my Mustang has a V8 and makes 300HP and 320TQ. So what?

I have, and I've nothing against the STi performance-wise. I think it's got great power, handles fine, and is a fun drive. I just wouldn't buy one because I find them unattractive.
I take all vehicles for what they're worth. The Subie may perform better, it may not. I don't know since I have no idea what the specifics are for either vehicle. All I know is that the 350Z has decent power for what it is and looks sleek IMO.
I see the comparison like this...

"Sean" im antagonistic but you are simply ignorant. The s2k was never ever meant to be a torque machine. It was meant to replicate the market held by the miata and held true the tradition set by the s800 and s600 sportscar of the 60's.

The s2k is a handling car with # 1 purpose is feedback of the road and proper cornering.....Things a z fall way short on.
