That;s because the japanese have a syllable based alphabet rather than a letter based. There is no "T" by itself, so for a consonant they use "Ta" "Ti" Tu" Te" or "To", u is the most popular to add because it is the easiest thing to ignore when speaking fast. So the symbols for a Trueno are actually
Tu-Re-No or
but as you can see in Roomaji, it is spelled "Trueno" on the car.
