Thread: Finally back to my Honda Roots: NSX

    Default Finally back to my Honda Roots: NSX

    After selling my most recent vehicle (C5 Z06) I was certain I was going for another MKIV Supra Turbo, but amidst my search I recalled the NSX and started looking into them again. Well, ironically not a day or two later I stumble upon a local Comptech SC'd NSX that was up for consignment at a local dealer who was a friend of the owner. I walked up, negotiated a great price, and picked it up the next day.

    Its been 2 days since I bought it. Wow... my thoughts follow:

    Specs:
    1991 Black on Black
    68k miles
    Comptech Blower (6psi)
    Comptech Headers and Exhaust
    Comptech Hi-pro Clutch
    OZ wheels with Bridgestone RE050A tires

    Pros:
    -Honda feel (back to my roots)
    -Exotic looks (F40'ish looks)
    -Exclusivity (You don't see these. In fact, I see more MKIV Supras oddly enough)
    -Driving visibility (WOW!)
    -Ride quality (not mushy by any means, but not overly stiff)
    -Steering response (WOW!)
    -Handling (WOW!)
    -Engine sound (Closest to a Ferrari that I can think of)

    Cons:
    -Stereo (ouch, painfully bland sound quality)
    -Acceleration (I've been spoiled by a 484whp Supra hardtop unfortunately).


    So overall, I love the car. The only exception is that I need more power. I'm hoping that the 9psi pulley, fuel upgrade and a tune will make me happier with that item.

    congrats on choosing a fine sports car. i own 2 myself. a berlina black/black and a gpw/black.

    i have own and driven many fine sports cars before but i can't explain how special NSX's are compare to others. i had a '94 mkiv tt six speed before and yes the power of those do have tremendous power compare to the NSX. driven ZO6, mustangs, vipers, etc. but nothing handles as good as a NSX in stock form. i do agree the NSX doesn't have much power compare to other sports car but with a little FI won't hurt it =).

    the nsx is hard to beat in terms of looks/reliability...not so much performance, but thats why you s/c that bish. nice car.

    Blah, this is probably the most fun car I have ever driven. The SC is enough go to certainly not be a snail, its good for some solid 12sec passes. But you dont buy it to be a drag car. Forget the supra, or the vette, this car is where its at. Its not the fastest, but you will definitely get out with a whole new respect for the car. I want it D, lol.

    I am glad to see such love still for the NSX. I have had many cars but I seem to come back to NSXs. More power and better brakes would be tops on my list but even though the body style is over 16 years old, people still think my car is brand new.

    Congrats on the new find. Come to NOPI...NSXCA has a new huge area!


    BTW Yousef, you hate the NSX...why would you want one...you better jump on the nutz of the S13

    Erin ran low 12's in 1/4 last weekend...i dunno if i'd be willing to put my money on you alex, even on a road course...Erin is a EXTREMLEY expierenced driver with many hours behind the wheel, yes even gripping as opposed to drifting...

    Nice ride choice man. My dad is looking for one soon.. He's looking at getting a bday/xmas present to himself. My step-mom probably won't mind either. Mind PM'ing me a price range i can tell him to stay within? He wants a 3.2 motor, but i told him it would be way newer and more expensive.

    Gorgeous NSX man. Im not sure which one I like better. Your hardtop supra or this car. I probaly would like the performance of the supra better, but I LOVE the look of a NSX better, 1000000x more exotic

    very nice, are those ultraleggeras or superleggeras?
    there was a 2 week period this summer where i saw over 10 diffrent nsx's around atlanta... but none the less still very rare

    Aquabat - I do live in Kennesaw. The car was on consignment over near BMV on Cobb pkwy for about 6 weeks until I walked in.
