you need to find the RMS wattage of the sub and the ohms of the voice coil/coils. then you need to match that with the RMS wattage of the amp and at what ohm load the amp does that power at.


say your sub is 150watts RMS and has a single 4 ohm voice coil. You would want an amp that does no more than 150 watts RMS at 4 ohms. If you sub is dual 4 ohm coils then you would want an amp that does no more than 150watts RMS at either 2 or 8 ohms.
