I've never really delt with this area before, so i need some help.

I went out today and bought 12", 300 watt sub.
My friend pointed out a 240 watt 2 channel amp.
will that be enough to power it?
if not, what should i get?

i dont wanna kill my wallet, and i dont want something thats so powerful, it blows the sub. i just want a lil more bass than what i have now.
