they probably sounded like crap because you hooked them up wrong. People who design and build sound quality comp rides often use home audio speakers. because they have a higher db/meter ratio as well as the fact that the speakers are designed in mind with an active xover to be run full time to each speaker allowing a specific range of freq to reach the speakers. You just hooked them to the hu didn't you. .... sigh... after reading the first like 15 posts it seems that very few ppl on this site that chime in on the car audio have very limited knowledge...
