Default have an airplane? I can fix it.

Business has dropped off a little for me lately... i know there are a few (aspiring and current) pilots on the board here other than myself. If you guys have anything wrong with your crafts, or need assistance with a homebuilt project - definitely give me a call. 706-326-7771

    - FAA certified mech. with both Airframe and Powerplant tickets. I have repaired and installed engines from Continental and Teledyne (my personal favorite). I can fabricate sheetmetal repairs as well.
    - Licensed pilot with IFR & twin engine ratings
    - 4 years of avionics experience working with Stark Avionics as an on call installer/troubleshooter. I am also adept at designing and building entire instrument panels from the ground up. Capable of installing and troubleshooting all types of EFIS, and avionics equipment including units from:

Garmin, Honeywell, Bendix/King, L3, Avidyne, Dynon, Aspen, Chelton, Vertical Power, Grand Rapids Technologies, MidContinent, OPTechnologies... just to get the list started.

I can travel to your location as long as it's within GA. Rates are typical of a avionics contractor, but somewhat negotiable depending on the work being accomplished.

a couple examples of my work:
complete panel build in an RV8

Garmin G600 retro, 430Ws, 396 panel mount install

flying the tecnam after the install

Tecnam AFS 3500 retro and 396 panel mount install

new panel build for an RV8, Garmin G900x, Dynon D100... etc

It is a fuel sipper, but ever since the insolvency of Theilert its a lot more expensive to acquire engine parts...

    Killing the pocketbook lately.

The Diamond DA40 is a nice plane though, I've had several clients that fly them... All are huge fans and swear they'll never fly another cessna if they can help it.

have you looked into getting your AI certificate or do you have it? i've had some piss poor luck with my A & P license (used it maybe 6mos in the past 4yrs). i'm about to try and get my AI certificate/license. i think the going rate is like $200 to sign off inspections. there's "flying communities" all over GA, where it's basically a neighborhood with a strip in the center...a lot of those guys always look for AI's.

i'll also get the company name for you, but a buddy of mine (went to A&P school together) works on life flight helicopters, and he works on call.

not sure how far you are from macon, but gulfstream USED to always need people.

if i find anything, i'll definitely let you know!

If you are looking for work and dont mind working out of state until things settle down here you could always contract. I was contracting for about 9 months and the money is great (was bringing home 1500/wk in Dothan, AL). The downside is that you have no benefits and they can lay you off at any time.

Right before all the issues with balckwater I had an interview with them to do their helicopter maintenance over in Iraq. I REALLY wish I got that job. I would be back home by now and my hosue and all other bills would be paid off.

yes sir, which is what I'm looking to do. Not really a huge fan of mechanic work though, i get enough of that with my car. I'd prefer to stick with avionics, the Saudis also have several openings for civilian jobs working on their F-15s as well... which would fit the bill perfectly since that's what i did in the AF.

High percentage of the IA population can barely afford beat up Hondas, much less an airplane. Try 6speedonline.com, you'd probably have more success there.
