To say that Racism is of all things, overestimated, I have to strong disagree with that statement. Ask any Hispanic, let alone black person, if racism is overestimate and they'll disagree with you. Racism is alive, granted it's not the sixites where it was out in the open but to think that it's just misunderstanding is a joke.

I will admit, listening to the radio I do shake my head especially when listening to V103.3 or Hot 107.9 but yet I listen to Rock100 and it's the same thing on the other side of specturm.

Granted, I plan on voting on the guy who will benefit me the most because it's my vote. I'm liberal about some sh!t and I'm conservative about some sh!t. IMO, I do think that Barack and Michelle are held to a different standard in terms of speech and like it was said earlier...that's politics for you.

Racism exists in low class people, for the rest of us, all i see is black people that are just looking for excuses when i cant agree with Obama's policy.

If anything, racism in this country is nothing compared to the rest of the world. Just look at certain African countries.

Rock100 had an actual comment that told white people to vote for McCain?....i seriously doubt that. A radio station has a right to give a comment based on politics and i listen to rock100 all the time and i have yet to hear any of this white unity talk.

Right, the double standard comes from what lucky dawg said. We have known about McCain since 2000. But we have known about Michele since she started running her mouth a short time ago.

And its not considered taking something out of context when a person says one thing and thats all we get to think about. We have nothing else to compare it to.

When i watched the McCain vid, i knew instantly the lies Abrams was pushing because i know about McCain.

Since you've known McCain since 2000 you should know this when the run for president starts getting really tough after the conventions he will loose his cool and I don't know if I am comfortable with a loose cannon running this country. Oh yea what do you know about McCain's wife? not much because she is scared to voice her opinions whenever she talks in a interview it sounds like she is reading from cue cards.

thanks tony for finding/posting that video. as everyone has said (either directly, or in some beat around the bush type of way), michelle's comments are looked at way differently than mccain's. i honestly believe that her comments should be viewed the same as his. he got to a point in his life where he finally had a wonderful feeling about his country, and now she's saying she feels that way.

it's funny how everyone talks negatively about her statements towards "middle class" people, because she isn't middle class. i don't know about the rest of you, but i'm not the richest dude in the world...YET i can damn sure gurantee you that it's a harder life for people who are "socially" lower than me. how wrong can her comments be??? we've got gas at $4 a gallon, un-employment has jumped, housing is all messed up...those are some of the ESSENTIAL ingredients to determining what class you belong to in the first place. you've got millionaires losing their homes now...EVERYBODY is losing..all classes.

lastly, we ALL know race has played a role in this election man. the dude on the video, his FIRST attack was that the obama's have a friendship with a "terrorist." seriously man, how many times have we seen "muslim" attacks on obama. even down to making fun of the man's name. if the man's skin wasn't brown, and he still had that SAME name, would people really be able to make these "muslim" attacks? how many white politicians are KNOWN affiliates with "terrorist." i mean damn, OUR COUNTRY gave these folks some of the same weapons they're shooting us with.

You are the type of person that thinks "white people" still think of things the way you described.

Again, when you realize an election is about politics and how they make sense to someone, you'll get why i'm saying this. McCain makes sense to me Obama doesn't.

Abrams is famous for twisting things and even if he was talking about Michelle Obama in a negative way, i could care less because i don't respect his journalism.

i stated facts, NOT OPINION. never once did i describe "white people's" thinking...you took it that way. you OBVIOUSLY don't get why i said what i said, so do you not understand elections and politics either? i just don't think A LOT of your points make any sense. some of them seem so blatently ridiculous, it's not even funny. just educate yourself...it'll end up working out for you.

what does post count have to do with anything? this is EXACTLY what this thread is about. people like you, who have no logical reasoning skills, and turns a battle of opinions into something personal. i told that man to do the same thing he told me to do; he claims i'm not educated when it comes to politics and voting, and i told him to continue educating himself in the same field. i wish it were that easy for you, but it's starting to seem like a lost cause. i tell you what, i'll have my bleach on tuesday, i'll have a glass or two for you also. do you want ice?

In terms of racism is in the Lower Class, what proof or what examples do you have to support that statement? Of course, I'm not trying to start a arguement or anything but to say that Racism is a more-less a 'lower class' thing is frankly...horsesh!t to be honest.

And you're dead on point that racism in the rest of world is more rampant that here but then again, look what black people, just as an example had to go through just to get to where they are now in America. I.E. The Civil Rights Movement.

In terms of radio, I'm not speaking in terms of Black Unity or White Unity, but it's easy to see that in terms of Democrats and Republicans, especially when it comes to the Morning Talk Shows, who's on who's side. But then again, we'd be going on and on in circles with this one.

I don't need to show you proof, any self respecting human being that has any real dignity will not hate another person for a reason such as race. That's all there is to it. I'm assuming you think of low class as having to do with money. But it doesn't. I don't respect racist no matter who they are.

Well my family has a long Jewish back ground and, i dont know if you've heard, but Jewish people have had it pretty bad too. But i'm not looking at Germans with a negative eye. I feel if i do that, it only makes things worse.

You shouldn't concern yourself with the media. I feel like i am more of a republican but i don't watch too much fox news. I like to get straight facts and make my opinions that way.

Thank you for clarifying that point.

Yeah, I've heard...the last thing I want to do is get into a pissing contest about who's had it the worst.

    I'm with you there bro.

I can't stand people who can't speak proper english and think they are some OG Rapper talking about being in a gang and all this other crap.

Its not if you are a minority.

I dislike people like that who are white, black, hispanic, asian who have a bad attitude and poor outlook on life. I just don't like trashy people who have no ambitions in life.

ofcourse Racism is alive, don't get all preachy on me.

And no i'm not a minority, i'm white down the line, Mom was raised in Ireland, and my dad's side is all farmer's from alabama.

I'm saying most white people i know will crack some jokes but its not nearly as bad as it used to be. I know just as many if not more minorities are just as racist towards white people, but white people can't pull the race card can we? because thats racist.

[QUOTE=Lucky Dawg]ofcourse Racism is alive, don't get all preachy on me.[/QOUTE]

Not trying to get preachy with you at all. That's not my place, it was just coming off as if you were saying that Racism was yesteryear.

You're right it's not as bad as it used to be, things have come a long way indeed. And I'll gladly agree that on the flipside there are minorities that use it a excuse for thier own shortcomings but there is a percentage that are held down, sadly enough, by the color of their skin, sexual preference, religious creed...etc.

Thats what makes me sick when someone claims i don't like black people because i hate obama
If you don't like Obama, that's your opinion and you're more than happy to have it. I just wanted to get a better understand of how the other side sees things in terms of racism...it just so happened that it happened in a political thread.

    .
+1 for this. It doesn't take much time browsing on IA to see that people still have the capacity to hate. Every other post I see some kind of hate for Muslims and gays. Don't think for a minute that racism is over with Just because it is currently not fashionable to express racism does not mean that that racist hate does not exist
