Though nothing compared to the power of the US, we are a world power and have plenty of military resources.. Oping for options before putting yourself into a embarrassing war is better than going in blind and finding out you just screwed yourself..

    hmmm yes so a little over 1000 personel out of a 43,000 force....yes, they seem to be fighting quite hard....or do they just clean the latrines there and guard the food stores?

    French don't have a army the size of U.S.!! No disposable army whatsoever, French troops relate pretty much to the same ratio of U.S. troops!

    The French Army, officially the Armée de Terre (English: Land Army), is the land-based component of the French Armed Forces and its largest. As of 2007, the army employs 134,000 regular soldiers, 15,500 reservists, and 25,750 civilians.

    ok so, 175,000 including civilian troops.. This is seriously about all of it.. No Marines and French's Navy, What Navy? accounts for nothing..

    Now, just the U.S. ARMY, ignoring navy, but taking in consideration Marines:

    Approx 1,055,000 for the Army and ~202,000 for the Marines..

    Out of the Whole ~44k troops in Afghanistan, 26k troops is U.S.

    26k is more or less 3% of the size of disposable military.. same % as France..





    You all see what happens when U.S. tries to increase troops, so I hope you all can conceptualize how the people in France feel when they increase troops..
