what are the benifits?
Wait, you're bragging about a job you haven't got yet? QT hires maybe 2 out of every 10 applicants, so good luck.

good luck.... The sad part is QT been paying the same for years now... sad sad sad..
I'm 28 now.. and made 38K with them when I was 18-19 also... almost 10 years ago...
Thats the less income I made in a year...

There was nothing in college I wanted to do.. I was going for criminal justice... and just wasnt into it....
Is all personal preference really.. I mean, I have only had 2 jobs in my life.. and my 10+ years in Retail is just a plus now..
You can grow with any company.. the time you spent in school, I spent gaining experience and earning more income... is about the same time... shit, by the time you are done with school, Im making more money then you and closer to retirement.. of course depending on what you go to school for..
When I tell people Im a GM for Racetrac petroleum, they look at me like whatever.. honestly, I dont care.. Only a couple of people on here know my income... And they are blown away and shocked by it..... damn, and you work at a gas station.. lol
All it is, be smart about life decisions...
not really.full time employees just got a 3% pay raise 2 months ago. not a lot, worked out to about 35 cents/hour for me. 3 months before that, the part time guys went up a quarter.Originally Posted by Julio

I made 38K with them as a 2a back in 1998... lol.. of course, I was working at high volume store (712) w/ good bonus......

I said, I made 38k working at QT back in 1998 as an assistant.. which sounds to me, like there pay hasnt changed much.

they dont hire mgrs from the outside, u are hired in as just an employee and prove yourself, they only promote from within. as well your beginning schedule is fixed, i think they give you 3 options of what u wanna work, mostly nites though and overnites
That sucks ass...I'd hate to be an RA...but its easy...RA ERP is okay I suppose..its gonna suck cause you have to drive everywhere in the dead of night..lolOriginally Posted by ksinao

hope you enjoy working the overnite shift...I tried it and it sucked...you aren't a manager really, you are a janitor...they should change the job title...all I did was take out trash, clean bathrooms and drink machines, etc...they also don't tell you that after you are out of training you are the only one there overnite by yourself...no thanks...I now work in a retail job where I manage a staff of people each shift not be the only one there like at QT on the overnite shifts...

I started, PT - FT- FTER- CT- 2A- RNA- I.T- 1a-1aer- Mgr Coverage then left... lol...
not sure how they do it now...But notice the pattern... I worked the RNA schedule for about 6 month @ 759 which is old peachthree.. It was a piece of cake.. I kinda like working by myself at night.. I never felt scared and it was a breeze...
Money was good, One year I made 58K as a I.T..21 years old....I.T bonus was the shit...
working at 707 is the shit especiallly when your just a fulltime clerk... 5-600 bonuses a month...

But RT bonus are about the same also.. to bad clerks at RT do not get a bonus which is lame.. but hey.. one day.
What's wrong with not going to college? You say it like it's a bad thing. Please explain. Thanks.Originally Posted by plv
julio has to work at racetrac, hed get bored sitting at hime, making money from IA doing nothing lol!
but julio i had no idea you started as PT. thats pretty nifty shit.
some people told me i should also think about being a CT-makes pretty good $ and you can jump straight to 2a from it like you did. i would enjoy being a trainer but im really anxious to be an assistant, and then perhaps an IT down the road. which would you recommend? me being NA or CT first?

But , I dont regret it one bit..
I left, Because RT offered me more money.. and I started hatting Craig hall (not sure if still there)
But I had diffrent bosses while I was there.. I had, Dan Covel, Marc Milburn, Kevin Thorthon, Sharif and Bill barrett who are no longer there..
I worked under Jim Klun and CIndy Runion, Dewey Wagner... not sure if they are still there... My cooler Boss there was Rob Barber, who died in a wreck back in 00 or 01... he was crazy and cool as hell.
But yea, I moved up quick, But came across a man called Craig hall.. That dude ruin my career with them... Im glad RT came along at the right time... and offered me more cheese... But QT was good to me, other then Craig hall..
He pretty much told me I was to young to be A store Manager... 20 years old and put me on MGR coverage.. and then stuck me back in a store as a 1a... Boy oh boy... If It wasnt because of him, I wouldve still be there...
CT was a good stepping stone to learn people skill at a lower level.. I.T was my best position there.. even better then 1a.. One, I was in different places every 2 weeks and made more then 1a's and in some cases more then some Store managers.... and it thought me alot of skills, because you are dealing/training with more serious employees, people who really need the job.. when training clerks, most still live at home, really dont need a job and really careless... , but thats only some...
But just stay on good people side man, and you can make money...
