Default High growth areas in Atlanta?

So my dads thinking of selling our house and buying another one, and we currently live in alpharetta. He works down in roswell, so he wants to move closer down there. What do you guys think are some good areas that will be growing a lot in terms of value and stuff once the real estate market gets back in an upswing? I dont really like the housing in roswell, its all old and some of it is ridiculously over priced.

Use the poor mans land development research. Find out where Starbucks is buying lots and renting spaces. I read that a few weeks ago in one of the business magazines at work. It said they spend more on research in that area than any other company in the country.

Thats a decent approach for completely under developed areas, we want something thats already got an infrastructure while at the same time having growth potential.

There is a Publix going up in a relatively undeveloped area.. its right at South Fulton Parkway and Highway 92, this area will be developing BIG TIME over the next 5 to 10 years.

Thats too far south, furthest south he'd go is probably midtown. Past that point the trip length to work will be even longer than it is now.

Tis true, Walmart, Walgreens, and Starbucks are good ones to look for!

The south side is where its at...steer clear of clayton and some areas of henry though. Coweta is probably your best bet (well, not yours, but anyone looking). My house appreciated about 15% in the past two years we've owned it. Meriwether and Troup if you really want to be ahead of the curve. Basically, go down interstate 85 south and stop somewhere. Once you pass fulton, your prices start high and go down from there (not in terms of value, just establishment). I guess my former real estate sales experience really was good for something (namely this thread).

Go up 85 North. I just bought a house in the Buford/Hamilton Mill area, but was looking all around 85 NE of Atlanta. Buford, Hamilton Mill, Flowery Branch, Braselton, and Hoschton are all growing.

Lol, everywhere in GA is growing. And yeah stay clear of clayton and some of henry. I live on the edge of henry and clayton...it ain't bad but it's just not going up in value like it was a few years ago.
