    Default New Go Faster Goodies on the way finally

    I say faster cause this thing will not be fast without FI but since I don't have the money for that I'm going to do a slow all motor build over the next few months hopefully by this summer I'll be laying down 225 to the ground. Got my new intake and exhaust ordered this week. Gonna do a few other things after this(drop, and tint). Then new headers and a TB off a Diamante AFC and a tune and see where I stand hopefully after this i will be at least over the 200whp mark

    you mean your going to drop a vr4 engine in? i havent seen any put down 225 n/a with just bolt ons...and i frequent club3g

    Honestly, I think 225whp is a bit much to ask for from an N/A v6 3G. I mean, you're looking at a 65whp jump, and the mod options for the platform are pretty much dead, unfortunately.

    I don't think it's asking too much there was a guy on there that's running 231 whp on a na motor so

    I'm doing some research still but we will see what happens i may skip the V meet my exhaust comes in on thursday and intake on friday. I am gonna go get my windows tinted this week and then I'm saving up for headers

    Well first off, that's a GTS, it's got about 10-15whp more then your GT, so at the most, with his exact mods, you can *pray* for about 215-225whp. The GTS is built a bit better for N/A and tunes as well, with it's fancy-shmancy, better air system. However, if you REALLY read that thread you pulled it out of, you should expect about 185-205whp like the majority of GT owners in N/A.

    Save up a nice $3100 and you have yourself a nice SDS kit and a 290-310whp car.

    Um, EEEEXACTLY. It looks like I'm not the only one, but *no one* believed him considering everyone in the thread ignored him. But that thread is also somewhere around 3-4 years old too.
    It's like you said i'm hoping for the best once I get some of this stuff done I will go and get a tune but I'm trying to get as close As I can to that number as I can and I'm not going to buy a SDS kit as they are hack jobs. I really don't even like geting on the national club3g forum because everytime I ask a question regarding some of the info on there they lock my thread and then I get neg repped. Like you said some of the info on there is like 3-4 years old but hey its whatever

    Probably ? I've only been to one or two NP meets. But I actually own club3gse.com; it's completely 110% dead. I'm waiting for it's renewal to be up in March and then I plan on doing something completely different with the vB software and web space .

    I've found that the regional sites for the 3G platform are a terrible waste of money, unless you're using some free service like phpBB. There's just no activity to support it like there is on the main site (well, unless you're club3gFL.com, they seem to get a bunch of activity since Russ of Tearstone Performance sponsors and owns it).

    I'm also one of the admins over on Club3g.com .

    imo... i hate the new body eclipse....

    97-98 was my fav year. dunno why they did such a big change in design.... the lines are nasty on the new ones

    Well the reason you got neg repped so much was because AFTER your thread was closed (for asking the same questions that get answered daily that can just be found by doing a search or looking down the first couple of pages in the performance threads), you continued to post the SAME thread in multiple forums, kinda defiantly, and I mean, everyone found the threads you were looking for by just using the search feature.

    The reason why most of the info is so old is because there have been NO significant upgrades on modifications for the platform in years.

    Some of the admins have a hard on for following the rules to the letter. /shrug


    And as far as Ripp Mods goes, they really have no affiliation to Club3G.com other then we advertise off one another. They give us hits, we give them business. They make pretty damn good, solid performance kits, I don't know why you'd think other wise.

    from everything i have read though on the ripp mods SC kits the Fuel management absolutely blows and there are a few other issues. personally I'm not looking for 300whp out of this thing because if all goes well for me next year i will be buying a bigger better toy with more than that stock

    Um, I hate the look of the 4G. Absolutely hate it. It's like a big, plastic egg. I actually love the look of the 3G. I think it's a cute, sporty lookin' car. But I got mine when I was 17yrs old, and for a 17yr old, it's a nice ride.

    I am TOTALLY ready for an upgrade, and have been for the past 3 years.

    As far as the threads thing goes. The first one i posted he said was in the wrong section never mentioned anything about the search button. so i went to the section where it was supposed to be then he moved it to the off topic section to humiliate me even further its whatever though I just don't post on there anymore i've never had such a terrible experience on a forum before

    ^^ man... u need to relax and write your goals down on paper. Once u do this, you realize how stupid they are. At the MINIMUM w/ your vehicle weight you need to fully-bolt the car and put a bottle on it... then a SC or a turbo. You're spinning your wheels w/ your plans... at the end of the day your car is still heavy and you will only be marginally happy. Take it from the people that have been where you are. SLow down - WRITE DOWN YOUR PLANS -- spend once, and spend wisely.

    I'm not spending over $2500 on this car as you said its heavy which means I'm already at a disadvantage trust me I have thought this out even if I only get 215whp out of my plans I will be happy trust me my next car will get 10x the amount of money put into it than this is getting

    ^no because i have done some research and it just isn't that great of a kit. I thought about a year ago when I thought this was gonna be my project car and not my DD but since this now my DD i'm going to shoot for 225whp if i get 215whp I will be happy but I'm not going to spend more than $2500 i may hit $3k but that will be my max. FI options for this car just suck

    There's ways of extracting power out of any engine if you do enough researching. For instance, a version of my engine (KF 2.0L V6)was what Ford used in the BTCC series races and it put out 311 fhp and was tuned by Cosworth. Later, they did the KL (2.5L) and it put down 389 fhp and there's been members that have gotten within 50whp of the lowest mentioned number. The point is, instead of looking for a tuner that makes 3G eclipses faster with simple bolt ons, look at mods done to other engine designs similar to yours and find a way to make it faster by using the best of both worlds. Your engine is an SOHC design, but that don't mean that the power ends there. SOHC engines can also make decent numbers as well. VW's flat 4's and 2.0L is a prime example. Others would be the Honda D series and Ford 2.3L. Look around at those engines and see how some of those guys got 100 hp per litre.

    K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.
