Even after say a 4500rpm stall speed converter and a 4.44 or 4.76 axle ratio? that should help the motor get into the upper revs quickly. I agree all-motor would be a dog but with boosting it should spool 500rpm slower or so but combined with the uprated TC you should be able to leave the line at full boost (traction WILL be a problem).Originally Posted by Mr. KiDD
It cant be that bad of a car, low-end will suck, but I wouldnt even bother trying if the tranny will blow that easily. Are those power ratings for blown trannies including using transmission oil coolers and synthetic fluid? Does anybody make race-quality rebuild kits?
Granted this may be apples to oranges since most of this is comparing 5spd to automatic WRXs. My car spools a lot quicker after the 5spd swap but I've also got a more aggressive tune. 1st gear was slow unless I launched it but after that it hauled. Comparing dynos the autos would dyno less power but be just as fast down the strip, the torque curves were always more linear on the autos too.
