Default A GSX engine in an RS eclipse?

My friend drives an Eclipse RS. He needs a new engine and wants something turbo charged. Does anyone know if a gsx engine will work, and if not, what else would?

wiring and if i remember correctly (but dont qoute me on it) theres other shit too cause the 420a and the 4g63 rotate opposite directions. i would just drop a 420 a in it, sell the rs, and get a gsx if thats what he wants. Why does he want a gsx engine?? why not a gst engine?? does your friend know the difference

Seriously dont go with the GSX motor, its garbage. The Gallo 22 (Serial number - 398GVDTYPE) which is a beefed up version of the GSX 4G63 is much more worth it and has a universial kit to bolt it up to almost any transmission. My buddy has this motor bolted up to a Tremec and that shifts like a dream. Pushes 31psi daily driven, not one problem at all, sounds like an 18 wheeler !! I think his screen name on here is Bleach. Dude doesnt know too much but he can get you in touch with the right people.

Not necessarily garbage, its still a good engine overall. If I were to use a 4g63 for anything though, I would use the 1st gen 6 bolt engine since it doesn't crankwalk as commonly as the 7 bolt 2nd gen ones do. Look up swapping a GST/GSX engine into a RS on dsmtuners.com, you'll find much more useful info on there than you will here.

You have a point but the motor Im reffering to was created under a lot of R&D and the engineers knew what they were doing. Trust me, nothing can beat the combo motor with a Tremec. The Gallo and the Tremec makes for a mean ass ride, plus a smooth power band.
