Default NEW pics of the SFWD civic Build FINALLY!!!

Well a LOT has been changed since the last time I made a thread about my OWN personal build so here it is! We are pushing for 850whp off the bottle and maybe 900ish on the bottle. I HOPE anyways. Who knows until I actually get it running and get her on the dyno!!! We will conservatively tune it to 20-25psi on the dyno then slowly crank up the boost at the track and tune off data logging. Should be a very fun experience! Cant wait...

Im full of shit??? The only things that have chage so far is this:

    1. We went with a GSR block instead of a b18b1..for more power of course.

    2. then the second turbo i purchased the second time around had to be was tad bit smaller in price. the nornal bearing gt4294 was my choice and it also turned out to be a great turbo. Its just 300 rpms difference in spool time.

    3. Went with a Tilton Twin because I found this brand new one that Wil from Exospeed hook me up with.

    4.STILL the same head.

    5. This is for your rude comment. The pics that I posted on H-T wayyy back didnt come out of my asshole man. Although I wish it was that simple! lnao.

So almighty one...what all so DRASTICALLY have I changed? All the block internals are the same.

What proof is there that a gsr block makes more power than a ls? It isnt the oil squirters there buddy.

i know the displacement is a little larger, but not enough i think that would make the power diffrence.

why not just buy the ERL girdle rather than a whole new block if thats all you wanted?

we tried the z10 girdle on my ls block and it took out to much material so Cort decided to go with a GSR block and keep the stock girdle to WITHSTAND more power. There ... I place it into a better sentence for Danny!

That little girdle is all personal preference, there are plenty of people making big numbers with out them. What material had to be removed for the z10 girdle to work, its supposed to bolt right up.

Scared? HAHA.. let me see i have went too one race the WHOLE year,1st pass i made it too the 1/8 mile and blew charge pipe. Then Bee asked to drive the car wich he did and the car lost all power, becasue the ground cable being sucked up.So after that i made 2 more passes with weak ass power due to no turbo. So yea im really scared considering i only drove the car one time doen the track with semi power until the 1/8 mile... Last year i ran the car untuned the WHOLE year,so the powerband sucked.YOu werent saying i was scared when u where driving 3 hours just too see me make a test and tune pass!!!

And one more thing...theyre the SAME sleeves idiot!
    The 1st block had
    BLOCK:
    Exospeed opendeck sleeves
    SuperTech 81.5mm pistons
    Full-Race(Manley) TurboTuff rods
    ITR crank

    The block now has
    BLOCK:
    b18c1 w/ 81.5mm Darton sleeves

YOu might ask why i ask about the block well dont you remember this post you made

wrong bud. cortney green has been running these sleeves for the past 2 seasons 800+whp. he runs consistent 9's at the track.

the sleeves i have are the exact same as benson sleeved blocks.

There again the LS block yeilds no more power than a gsr. The Crank is what makes the difference, and honestly, compairing dynos there is little difference IF any from the use of the LS crank over the GSR.

Regardless if the build changed or not:

LS block will make MORE power than a GSR, so whoever told you that was WRONG.

89mm Stroke> GSR. youll make more power an more TQ.

If you wanted the girdle, then yeah, i would have just run the ERL girdle, but if you feel more comfortable with an OEM girdle, thats fine. i personally think the girdle is worthless. especially with a twin disk clutch.

I still find it VERY hard to beleive youll make anything over 800whp with only 81.5mm more. its still a 1.8l. thats ALOT of power for that small of a motor.

    good luck

The guy that told me has been doing this since you were born...lol!

And besides...I dont even have GSR Stroke...its ITR remember.

And as far as the sleeves...Exospeed=Darton.

Thanks guys, Picsup a little bit later. Had a problem last night but the engine is going in right now.

    WILL KEEP YOU ALL POSTED!!!

P.S. 800+whp has been accomplished on 81.5mm bore before ... LOOKUP this name on H-T .... boosted_hybrid I belive is his name. He made A LOT MORE then 800whp OFF the bottle.

Joe with all due respect, i really dont give a shit who has been doing this or for how long, you cant argue the laws of mathmatics.

Im 25 years old, so i HIGHLY doubt in 1981 there was anyone making over 150whp in a HONDA CIVIC LIRL. hell, 3 years ago no one was making over 800whp.

FYI= GSR crank is the EXACT SAME STROKE as a ITR. The only difference is the ITR has more counterweights than the GSR.

89mm stroke from the LS will make more power, no replacement for discplacement. Bigger stroke means more power per less psi of boost.

again, ill be VERY impressed to see it make over 800whp on a 81.5mm bore, you have your work cut out for you.

    good luck

screw it just by the dart tall deck 2.1l(actually works out to be 2.3~l) built block we have one here in augusta in a buddys hatch...no problem with power and the displacement issue is not a problem...just lots of $$$$$...he's sunk over 9 grand so far....precision 67(custom backhousing) ,1600cc injectors, fullrace manifold,type-r head built by jg engine dynamics, hondata full setup with wide band,etc...numbers with the precision 61 were 450~500 low boost.....but now it should be 800-900~ as promised...not sure on that but thats the best guess so far...btw call jg engine dynamics...the owner says oil squirters are a waste of time/money.....just slows down the rotating mass......they know what they are talking about.....good luck with the swap/install...hope you make good numbers

well i just think its funny that you spent all this money on crazy manifold, big baller turbo, AEM,etc then cheap out with an OBX diff instead of a QUAIFFE, but to each his own.

if money was a factor, i would get the OBX diff, cause if it breaks, you can buy another one an still be cheaper than a quaiffe. but anyone wanting to be competitive id still run a name brand thats proven.

Seems like you got the tilton thing taken care of that you were asking me aobut earlier.

when are you gonna shoot to have it tuned?

Yea I got the pilot bearing issue fixed..lol! It was the wrong one! LOL

Im aiming to having this thing running and on the streets by next week and then tuned in a month or so. In the mean time I can street tune it to 20or so pounds of boost. And 25psi should be right at 650whp...haha! Should be good times!!!

Well, that is if you only talking about the OBX..But when it breaks, it usually takes something with it..i.e. gears, cases, etc...Know what I mean...A good unmolested, no grind GSR tranny in good condition, if you can find one are 600-800..

How about axles..You got good axles? IF not, I do have a stage 5 DSS for sale.....Shoot, to think of it. I GOT A LOT OF SHIET TO SALE....AEM CDI or MSD DIS 2 for your AEM EMS system. With the AEM, you should be running individual coil.. Because I can assure you, that your engine will be missing at 800whp on a stock DIZZY AND 6AL. If you are lucky, you might get one clean run with it.

Man, you know I can sit here and give you inputs all day long. You might not like it but I presume thats what you wanted since you made the post...

Here is another one..68mm...you should have went with a 70mm or mustang Throttle body, they are about the same prices. It doens't make sense to use large intercooler pipings when you are limited to the size of the inlet and outlets of the Precision intercooler of being smaller and then jam it into a 68mm throttle body.

Well someone on honda-tech said you are full of shit. Wait why are you relying on a forum to back up what your engine "is going to do"?
