wondering about this myself. i have a gsr with a b16 tranny and am looking to go turbo in the near future. 80mph at 4krpms isn't the greatest, but i been living with it for 3 years and my mpg is still good...
the short gears gonna be an issue with the turbo though? the tranny has phantom grip lsd (came with the car when i got it), how does that compare to quaife or OEM?

Phantom grip is trash. Just get an ITR LSD and you will be fine!Originally Posted by trini_gsr

lol...yeah i am not too impressed with it either, i was wondering if the whole LSD thing is just overrated. i have a gt28 ball-bearing turbo, that thing should spool pretty quick. consensus so far seems to be that the b16 tranny's gears are too short for the setup...
The phantom grips are fine for road racing, they are NOT for drag at all, thats why they break. they arent made to stand up to launching.Originally Posted by trini_gsr
If its gonna be a street car that gets driven hard from time to time, dont worry about the LSD, unless you want it done when we swap motors out, that makes it EASIER lol
