    Default I need a shop to stop bullshittin with me. I need engine help before its too late!!!!

    Okay when we did my swap we had everything hooked up.....when we first cranked it, it revved to 4k rpm and climbed and smoked some.....

    we took apart the IAC sensor and it revved steady at 1500, but the engine's still rough and jumpy, we thought it was the IACV, but it wasnt, thought it was the IM but isnt.....

    could a bad IAC sensor make it rev like that, and where can i take it to get the sensors checked, cause acura honda specialists said they dont wanna look at swapped cars, btw doesnt smoke anymore........

    is it the tranny? Im saying that because my car also only rev up to 4rpm due to bad tranny. Just havent change the tranny so i wouldnt know if its.

    nah its not the tranny....well when i first got the car the motor blew a head gasket and i decided to do ls/vtec with another motor.....

    everything is either rebuilt or brand new.....well these items

    1.Rebuilt LS longblock with CTR pistons
    2.1995 Gsr Tranny w/lsd
    3.Brand New Stage 2 Clutch and resurfaced flywheel
    4.Brand New Rear Motor Mount
    5.Good starter and Alternator
    6.Brand New Battery

    The only thing on this car thats the same as the other motor, is the intake manifold and all the sensors, thats why im thinkin it may be the idle air control sensor....i need to find a place or a person i can take it to that knows wtf they are talking about.....

    BTW it idled the same way on the old motor! and its NOT the IAC VALVE!

    have you driven it aat all, i had a similiar problem that limited my power and rev.
    basically my cat was clogged, and due to the back pressure, it caused my timing to jump...hopefully the cat is the problem or somethin else minor, but im sure Mainstream can help you.

    my friend says he knows a guy named viet that knows a lot about motors ima have him take a look first, then if that dont work i guess ima TRY to make it out to mainstream again....without getting lost again, lol

    What type of ecu are you running? Have u done any tune at all? W/ ctr pistons in the Ls motor depending on the head you are running that's quite a bit of compression. Not only that but piston to valve clearance is not going to be too great with that high of a dome that is on the ctr piston. PM me, I live in McDonough and wouldn't mind taking a peek at it. I'm no great mechanic by any means but seeing and hearing it in person may help a little bit. Also I can tell you exactly how to get to Mainstream if you need it! I'll even draw u a map.

    If it revs uncontrollably, it ie either
    1) Throttle cable too tight
    2) Massive Vacuum Leak (check the gasket by the intake manifold)

    if it idles like shit and is all lumpy, it could be a tuning issue if you have a stock ecu on it. I if you are POSITIVE its no the IAC, then it could be the Fast Idle Air Valve or whatever the fuck its called, or a vacuum leak.

    It could also be a bad map sensor, or TPS.

    you need to pull out the old volt meter and start testing

    1. when we first got the swap in we started it without the throttle cable unhooked
    2.Put a brand new im gasket on the new motor, if i had a massive vacuum leak wouldnt somethin be spraying or sounding like its letting air out somewhere?....i got another volt meter inside my car, the volts are at a steady 14....

    well another thing we have to consider is that it did this with the old motor as well......i changed out the block/head/header/intake manifold/the im gasket/tranny/clutch/flywheel/radiator/all motor mounts were either fine or replaced(rear mount)......

    whats the proper ecu code.....i've never had a non vtec motor so im still new to non vtec, lol...... im thinking its got something to do with a sensor or my ecu...... hopefully it will be fixed sometime today or tomorrow, i work overnight at best buy tonight and i go in at 11, hopefully it will be fixed by tomorrow

    PR4 or P75 i beleive is LS .

    it cannot be P72/Pr3/P73

    its prob not ecu related. sounds like a vacuum leak to me

    if it idles up and down like that, it can be that coolant is not getting into your IAVC or there are bubbles in your cooling system also

    well when the sensor was plugged up it revved high and higher, i cut the car off when it hit 4k rpms, when we unplugged the sensor the check engine light came on and it stayed revved between abotu 1300-1600rpm.....

    What ecu are u running? You said that you were doing LS/Vtec earlier, is that right or is it just all LS?

    im GOING to do ls/vtec....just not right now, nothin on the car is vtec just yet, i'd like to ride on this rebuilt ls for a month so i can get my head built and shit first.......

    nah its gonna be a second for my to get my head built and all my accessories.....its gonna be a beast doe! already got dh-r ported intake mani, and TB, vtec killa cams on the way, but thats beside the point, lol......any more ideas?

    Vtec Killer cams (im asuming TODA) are not for power ,they are for ROAD racing. youll ahve no bottom end power . Ask Len, in his ITR the only thing he regretted doing was the Killer Cams

    yea i heard the same thing.....the only thing i didnt order yet was the cams, lol....i was definitely going too last night but i decided i was gonna make a post on HT and see whats up but its gonna be a minute before i decide what cams are for me

    180-200whp, and you have CTR pistons and a LS VTEC, that should be easy

    o yea i read the ht thread bout dhr......crazy, luckily i didnt buy a block/head from him cause i wouldve took the drive there to kill him...my boi got the TB so i know its GOOD

    antwan, whatever you do don't get vtec killer cams, YOU WILL REGRET IT, I know len also and they are not what they seem. If anything go with skunk2, comp, or maybe stock CTR intake cam (the exhaust cam is basically the same as GSRs).

    so its the ITR exhaust cam thats the one to go with? preciate it man, i thought long and hard, and im either gonna get a b16 head with a combo of itr and ctr cams, or go ahead and do the ls/vtec with my itr head....lol....forgot to mention that

    i dunno, I kinda liked screamin' in Len's car at 9,700 rpm's Of course there was no power until like 6k. Who has that engine now? Mmmm...Toda ITB's I loved that car.

    Isn't the later ITR cams the same as the CTR's? Think there are two versions and the earlier one had the mild intake....or maybe it was exhaust...i can't remember. I just know there was a change at sometime...

    cool, I still need to go grab a intake manifold gasket but the only one that has it in stock is baranco acura and they close at like 5 so I won't be able to pick it up til like monday. But yeh, the N1 would sound sweet on your car.

    i would strongly suggest a hondata IM gasket (the thick "plastic" one)...at Commerce my intake manifold was 30° cooler than any other b-series there. *free bump*

    Okay I'm tired of this shit, lol.....i live in mcdonough, georgia.....i live off of 75 south exit 224 eagles landing, and i need GOOD directions on how to get to mainstream, i will be leaving early in the morning, i get off work at 6 and i'll probably leave at 7 or 8.......im going into work now so i need somebody(or ppl) to help me out so i can take my car down there and get the motor looked at......por favor, gracias mis amigos.....damn dominican women rub off on me, lol, thanks...off to work

    no i think it's the itr intake cams you use and the ctr exhaust..
    I do rb20 and rb25 wiring into s13 and s14's 300.00 shipped 24hr turn around turn ket start guaranteed! PM me for more details!

    if it is then i think its either the TB or the TB gasket. replace both and you will be amazed!!
