    Default looking up motor serial numbers

    i have a swap and im looking up parts and need to know the year and my vin plate is missing on motor and tranny can you look up it up from the serial number or do i need to call honda with the serial number and get a vin then look it up that way i know its a 1999 or 2000 motor but need to know which one

    for the kit im buy to rebuild my motor it does because of different bearings and thrust washers i think i just the know the website im ordering it from just wants to know the year

    a b16a2 swap from a 1999 or 2000 civic si thats all i know

    this is what it says below what all comes with the kit

    Please specify engine code and year of engine when ordering.
    B16 bearings change depending on year and if it is a B16A or B16a2.

    Honestly, I don't think there is gonna be much of a difference between '99 and '00 B16A2s. You may be able to look on the head and see if a year stamp is on it

    yeah thats what im going to look and see and on another thread it says to call honda and you could give them the serial number and they can give me the vin the i can look it up through there by using the 10th vin number
