Default building block for boost questions?

Engine y8 bottom and z6 top
The reason I'm running y8 bottom I will be using y8 oil pump and pan.
(currently have two dip sticks looks dumb) z6 & y8

I will not boosting right away just building a block.

So far this what i have,
    Arp head studs
    vitara pistons
    eagle rods w/ arp bolts
    walbro 255
    King bearing kits
    330 cc injectors

^ exactly right..compression will be in the 7s and 330's arent enough..ive got the fj rods, 550s and there about maxed out and im close to 300. Even with fj rods, mine is slugish..ppersonally, id get close to 9:5 area for quicker spool

Do not do a y series bottom end. If you have the opportunity to da a z6 bottom, that's your best bet!. When I get to my computer I will respond to your questions the best I can. Phone keyboard sucks..... lol

true I travel a lot for work so I'm always having to use my phone keyboard, it sucks. So for the dip stick issue what can i block it with like jb weld or something that looks nice? I've heard y8 oil pump is better, is that true?

It better be a z6, and yes I'm serious. Boy I wish I could go back myself, but my sleeved block is a z6 so we will see what happens.....

Stock Fuel rail & intake manifold are pretty efficient until 300+hp. So they will depend on what your power goal is.

I've built several SOHC turbo setups with FELPro MLS head gaskets.. although none of them have hit the power goals you're likely looking for. IMO running a welded block guard to keep the sleeves from shifting and ARP head studs will be more relevant to the headgasket lasting than what brand you choose.

What kinda power you're gonna make is completely dependant on what turbo/psi you choose to run so thats tough to answer. Un-boosted you will make LESS horsepower than stock with vitara pistons.

Ive also used ACL duraglide bearings on all builds ive done (honda, subaru, toyota) with great success.

i would run oem until you get bigger then 75.5mm..... my stock hg hit my old 76mm pistons..... cometic 76mm helped me out... made over 300whp and going for over 500 now, i will let u kno how it holds up.... but cometic has been good to me!
