    Default Removing Tint

My car has a 15 year old tint job that now looks like ASs!
I've seen ppl remove it with a razor and steamer seems easiest this way.
Thing is I have no steamer and it's already hot as fuck outside.
What is another easier way to remove this old tint ?
Note: tint is so old it just shreds/crumbles so pealing is almost impossible.

I tried it first thing and between it burning the hairs off my fingers and causing the glue to be even stickier it was a fail

orange spray cleaner works great! The acid in the orange cleaner helps break up the glue on the tint.

I have some ill see if it works thanks for tip.....You know it may sound insane but if it wasn't for a fire breakout risk. The tint adhesive is so strong in chemicals i bet it burn the tint off if lit on fire i a heart beat lol.

someone mentioned windex with ammonia in it. He said its a common type of windex available at stores. He sprayed it and let it sit for a little bit white it loosens the adhesive. Once you get the tint off it's game over, you can use some goo gone or continue with the windex.

Side note - I was using goo gone on my wheels to get the off the wheel weight adhesives and it works very well. You just have to wait while the goo gone works it's magic. Very effective against adhesives...

dude must be talking about this windex -

If you don't have a steamer, "black bag" it. Spray ammonia or ammonia based cleaner on the tint inside of the window and immediately place a cut to size black trash bag over top that. Park the car in the sun for 30-90 minutes. Use a single edge blade and carefully peel back just a corner of the film until you can get a grip on it. Peel off the tint and trash bag simultaneously. I tint so this is where my information is coming from FYI.

i agree with them with the black trash bag. i use to work at a tint shop. but i would just use soap and water and spray it on the window then squeegee the bag flat on the glass. make sure its in the sun. and give it about 15-20 minutes then go back and peel it off. it always work for me. from my experience. then just go back with the soap and water and spray the glass take off the excess glue.

    just use a hammer

I usually just use windex, a heat gun, and a few razors. Keep bandaids handy.
