    Default Black vinyl roof opinions??

Debating on getting my roof wrapped in a black vinyl. The idea behind this is that I plan to do a large ragtop in a black canvas and figured I might as well do the rest of the roof in a black vinyl while doing so to sort of mimic the JDM cubes.

Matte black, Gloss black, or leave it white.

    Opinions?

Picture of a jdm cube for reference.

    Picture of ragtop and size

Now combine the two in an all black!

Why not do the ragtop in black and leave the roof white? Would look much nicer and cleaner that way. In my opinion, of course. Later, QD.

My javelin had a vinyl roof on it, eventually the vinyl stopped repelling water and started retaining it, long story short the entire roof had to be replaced, overall vinyl has to be done perfectly or it becomes a clusterfuck. I'd just paint it flat or matte black in that top section with the black top on it to hide it.

Doesn't Vinyl have a life of only 2-3 years if the car is outside most of the time?

Yes, it starts holding moisture in after a while and then you start having rust problems. I'll find some pics of my Javelin's old roof to prove it.

I think it would definitely look good in a flat or satin black. You could also be a little rice and try the new CF vinyl wrap.

Well here is a member on IWSTI that has done his roof in the 3M carbon fiber wrap. Just in case you were wondering if it looked any good.

I finally remembered to upload them.

Here's exactly why you should never put on a vinyl roof

That was one of those thick foam padded roofs wasn't it?

I am just thinking about doing a wrap, shouldn't be able to retain water if your is what I am thinking.

I gotta admit the CF looks pretty decent, but I am just not a fan of putting on a CF wrap. Will see though. I am going to try and get a sample of the canvas material before I do the wrap. I have to do the wrap then cut the hole and install the ragtop. It will be a few months before it actually happens, but i still just want to get the feedback and ideas.

Yea, I think the matte is going to look
