These wheels came out back in the very early 2000's. They were popular as hell back then, but they didn't cost much more than the $350 your friend is asking. I wouldn't give that much for them. When it comes to wheels, don't just settle. I mean, get what you want, man, but don't just grab a set because you think the price is good and because you really want wheels. Just be patient.
