Default Which motor for my hatch

Right now I'm running a d15b non vtec jdm motor. I have d16z6 in my
Basement I was just wondering what would be the better motor to build out of the two. I'm not looking for crazy numbers just something a little quicker then stock. I have heard good and bad on both motors so any input yall have will be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance to all who respond

z6, obviously. its .1 over the d15b non/v and uses larger bearings, IMO, better.

have you considered doing a B series swap? a LS or B20 maybe? either will be a night day difference compared to now, and would run around if not 1k.

Between the two you listed... the Z6

But like said above.. Swap that bitch out for a B series.

More power, tq, also better format to build on in the future.

Yea I had a b16a2 swap in my last hatch. Just don't have the funds right now for the swap. So that's why I was comparing these two motors since I already have both.

Keep the "D" you can kill B's with it if you do it right for less money. Z6 is by far better swap that in and get an ex/si trans if you don't have one. Google built "D" series and see what's been done out there. I did it a while back it's crazy.

heres a few good build ideas.

Keep the stock motor. Rebuild it. Run it another 200K+ miles. Keep good gas mileage. Make people jealous of said gas mileage.

But.....since there is an option....build the stock motor. Do what few people do and build a D15B. Hell, make it a sleeper. Bore it to Z6 status and boost it.

they are right, you can make a d series really fun. just make sure you have an ex/si tranny, helps out a ton. have you thought about just putting vitara pistons and better rods and put together a budget turbo kit? 200+ hp is easily attainable with said mods. im sure you could do this for less than a dohc vtec swap, and you'll enjoy it MUCH more. i believe that you can run ls rods with a little bit of work to the block too..

Check out my thread further down. Mine is a little more elaborate and I have more in mine though.
