Sandpaper is your friend. The purple places are where fingerprints, oil or other foreign material has burned into it. Sand it out - then make sure when you install it you wear some cotton gloves - then it will burn-in evenly.

thanks man... I was thinking wouldnt sanding it make it rust in the future?

yeah cotton gloves are your friend on this PITA. just send it off and have it polished ceramic coated, and be done with it.

where and how much is this procedure???
