yeah, yall got a good pt... alot of people use shitty parts and don't have the right fuel setup and blame it on the tuner when they go BOOM!!

Scotty has tuned my cars and many people I know and they have always been excelent tunes.
well to bring up a double sided sword, what other tuners have u been to with the same car and compaired their tunes?? untill someone does that it all personal preference.
and its manly scotty cuz as much as i hate to say it the ppl on this site are all biased. If u read up on a local fourm and all u see is this one name from the same clique of ppl then ur gonna start to think that "hey this one guy is pretty good" You have to go out and speak to other tuners and get cars tuned at other places.
yea the OP has never dopped anyinfo on here. No tuning software, motor, turbo set up, and hp/et goals.![]()
well yeah, because everyone has that kind of money where you can go spend 300-400 at 3-4 different tuners. Im not bashing any of the other guys, ive heard Ed is good to, but when you have now probably 97% of the posts supporting one person, i would have to say its not biased, its just evidence of the truth
Not bashing Scotty becasue i dont wanna turn this in too a war zone again. But look at the quality of cars that he tunes, then look at the quality that some other people tune. Scotty usally tunes alot of cars off IA. Ed doesnt need IA or hondas his reputation goes way beyond tuning hondas. Go too the Peti Lemans and ask who Ed is, or even the world challenge.
If these guys trust him with their 200K car, I do too!!!
Ed was tuning Hondas wayyyyyyyyyy Before any of you could even drive. Who was the 1st too tune hondas in Atlanta area?
Ed is a good tuner..
Ed tuned my car almost 5 years ago. No problems so far.
500whp of spinnin fury!!!
I have seen Ed work his magic on several high HP Honda's. He is well known for tuning Rolex cars as well as other series. Scotty is very knowledgeable also, and he is easy to talk to and he has a nice facility to work out of. I have seen his work as well. Sam over at Go Autoworks is very intelligent and I saw first hand some of his troubleshooting and tuning capabilities this past weekend. I know that Dan from Batlground is very good too. I have done some all out Honda racecar tuning also and will let that speak for itself. It is true that the tuner does not make the car fast. It is a whole lot of factors, such as chassis tuning, driving skill, track conditions, and you do need horsepower to go fast. The first 3 that I mentioned get that horsepower to the ground so it can do its job. I believe that any of the above tuners would make a good choice. The OP needs to specify what ems/setup that he is going with. good luck with your car and hope to see you at the track soon!

U sir hit it ion the head
also i personally like john V over at import experts in winder,he has done a amazing job on all the work i have ever sent to him,and would not let me leave unless i was happy.I no alot of you guy's don't no him but i am sure the people that do no he can not unly tune well but he can build very reliable cars.not to mention he is very affordable for the time he puts in my![]()
I check sluts off my list like a maintnence man
I drive a low is3 just so it gives me a reason to drive super slow on these rough ga roads.
mony from import expert
I'm biased.
I honestly think many of these people, drove around on base maps ,boosting the hell outta their cars and wonder why it blew up? ,And then they come to get tuned with the most jankey setups ever , that barely make it to the dyno, and point the finger at the tuner.
Anyways my vote goes to Scotty. He tuned my turbo d and got some good power out of it, without sacrifising reliability. The car runs great , part throttle, w0t ,and in any situation.
I think we need to have a discussion about "safe tuning" and what that really means. Something to the effect of being outside of the efficiency range. I am not a tuner, but I hear a lot of stuff from one (Dan) that I don't necessarily have enough knowledge to expand on myself. Maybe I can get the guys to make a post on there really being no such thing as a "safe tune" per say. There was a similar discussion on WRX Atlanta. Had some cool info in it and it cleared up a lot of rumors and misconceptions about tuning.
People just don't know do they Danny?! Ed has helped develop programming for both MOTEC & AEM. Remember he's not just a tuner he's an all around accomplished Engineer. He's developed some of the tools used on most standalones or piggy-back systems. Ed had the 1st Hondata software in the SOUTHEAST not GA. He reputation is absolutely impeccable! Ed flies around the WORLD to tune cars. That's why he's a little hard to get a hold of. But it's worth it in the end.
Quality Perfomance and Fabrication!!
Danny, I know what you are saying but as a tuner you cannot really help what kind of cars you tune. Saying to look at the quality or type of cars that he has tuned isnt really fair. Im not trying to argue with you, but if I was a tuner I wouldnt turn anyone away with a car that met my requirements for tuning. There are plenty of good honda tuners in Ga, but none are great, those guys in the NE know what is up. Not only do they know how to tune an engine they know the chassis and manipulate the EMS to get you in the right direction to meeting your goals. Look @ danny smith, he went from running consistent low 10's to a new personal best every time out with miller behind the laptop and nearly a whole second faster. Not trying to discredit him, but you know what I'm talking about. Its different when your tuner is also an enthusiast of what your car is built for.
Ed and Chris Anderson will both do the same thing, it's just pricing. Chris will be a lot cheaper than Ed. The reason is that Ed is hired by such high dollar programs/corporations that his rates are outlandish to most privateers. That's why most of those teams just go ahead and put him on the payroll!! Wow, aint that the life!!
Quality Perfomance and Fabrication!!
Johnathon Jones who used to own Maximum Velcoity Motorsports but shut it down when Beans Diesal Performance offered to pay him big money to be there full time tuner. He goes above and beyond for anyone.
Chris Macellaro's is also a very respected tuner.....
STANCEWORKS/STANCEWORKS/STANCEWORKS/STANCEWORKS
If it rolls, runs and drives. It had function. May not be YOUR kind of function but its functional.
I wasn't talking about just a dyno tune. I was referring to Josh talking about a tuner going to the track w/ you and helping you dial in the car chassis, suspension, and tune wise. Ed will go to the track just most people can't afford his rate or want to deal w/ his scheduling. Chris Anderson will dyno tune and track tune your whole car just as the tuners up north.
Quality Perfomance and Fabrication!!
does some one know scotty's number need my civic turbo tuned.... thanx
Does some one know scott's number??, NEED MY CAR TUNED! Thanx
look at mainstreams site....
oh yes a website totally describes everything. Scotty is a seperate entity from mainstream performance, he is his own company that tunes pretty much exclusively for mainstream. A joint venture per say.
There is a story to why their website is sitting like ass at the moment, but ill change that, the beta site is up and needs a slight adjustment before being posted.
Balanced Performance website in my opinion is crap as well if you want to get into that garbage.
Im definitely going to start basing peoples fabrication, tuning, engine building and everything on their website from here on out, just like i judge books by their FUCKING COVERS.
Bottom line, my tunes are spot on and have produced 800+ from scotty. Danny has his car tuned by Ed, and it makes 800 or whatever. This thread is about about hondas or niassans whatever that are being tuned coming from IA, not formula/le mans/grand prix/whatever. We are talking about the real world here.

If you want to talk about REAL WORLD I guarantee you Ed still has tuned 5 times the amount of street cars as Scotty and has made over 800whp on them. Let's see Peter on IA's 900+whp Integra. Yamil Widy on IA 1100hp Supra(full street car-he has a separate drag Supra). Riceboy's old 800whp 92 hatch. Greg's Si when it was full built B16 made 682whp tuned by Ed. He never actually had any problems w/ the B16 motor. AnothaRRR's ITR made over 700whp before he bought Tracey Hyte's chassis. That was tuned by Ed. Mony's orange turbo CRX was tuned by Ed. The list goes on and on. Hell Mahdavi Motorsports had a sponsored blue CRX that ran in NDRA when it was around and was 3rd overall points for the season-THAT WAS TUNED BY ED!!
Quality Perfomance and Fabrication!!
Well it was asked who is the best tuner? I belive Ed is and so do so many others, he is the best because he has so much more knowledge. He has done more than any tuner in ATL, so that makes him the best.
Now if the thread said " who tunes all IA car (well most)" then scotty would be at the top of the list. But as far as being the best thats up too the person.
if you can tune 300whp, you can tune 800, or 1000. the only difference is noise and numbers
Scott Brooks does cars from out of state a considerable amount, people that found him through other means rather than IA. Where you get your business and what cars are handed to you to tune make no definition of the quality of the tuner other than the great tunes that come out of him, theres more to a tune than a 4 digit HP Value.
I'm done.

Owner of the car doesnt want to post up specifics. But he is using a aem ems for the tune. Think we are going to go with ed for the tune. Thanks for the input guys
Everyone is going to have their favorite tuner, and most of the tuners listed are excellent tuners, or the ones I know, and have seen. So in theory its going to be on you to pick who you believe is best to tune your car. Enough of the bickering back and forth on who is the best yadda yadda. There has been a list of options handed to you, make your choice and report back with what you feel happened.
I say this though, as I am mostly biased towards scotty, as he tunes my car, I drive it daily, I make 327whp on a stock motor, unheard of, and i drive long distance trips no problems w/ great fuel economy![]()
The EMPIRE
I am the best, now you can close the thread. You wanna have a tuner faceoff to settle this? Or do you want me to start posting maps that I have collected from other tuners for the past 6 years. LOL J.K.
Dan
Tuner face off! Now that's a good idea!
who has the better dyno?
