    Default HUGE IDLE PROBLEM.

    k so last night driving home from work the car wouldnt go past 3500 rpm, wouldnt let me pull boost and when i stopped the car wanted to die. so first thing this morning i went and got new ngk plugs for it to see if it was part of the problem, pulled the old ones out and they were just as black as they could get, put the new ones in and gaped @ .30 the owners manual says any where between 28 and 30. anyway started it up and idles rougher than hell and is smoking baddddd, pulled the new plugs out and they had already started to get gas and stuff on them like they were going to foul. car is also smoking underneath the exhuast mani where the turbo is also, idk wtf to do. im just about ready to get rid of it and go honda or subaru idk. any ideas and suggestions are greatly appriciated!

    damn. well i cant help you. I was just gonna say your first problem was getting a DSM but I guess you already new that...

    you got a check engine light? How were u driving right b4 this happened? like a puddle of water, beating the shit out of it, rock climbing...etc...? Aftermarket ecu or piggy back? helps ppl get a better idea of what ur problem is. And what kinda plugs did u have and what knda plugs did u put back in?

    Air leak would be my first guess...excessively rich and not building boost spells boost leak. All the metered air that the turbo is pushing is making it out somewhere but the ECU is still trying to add fuel for that air. Could be a hose, busted intercooler, whatever, but try doing a boot leak check.

    Possible that the turbo is trying to back its self off of the manifold. Should sound pretty damn loud if that is the case. Or you may have oil leaking, possible from the feed, around that area and burning off. Either way, something is going on around there that shouldn't be.lol

    Check over EVERYTHING.

    this is the second thread ive seen in like 2 weeks about your car messing up. it sounds like to me its time to sell and get a different one like you said

    roads were wet took a turn a lil quick and wheels went loose, did rev high only like 5k and as soon as that happened i let off..and the dude who had it before me had shitty autolites in it and i checked the manual to the car and it asked for the ngk which i put in it. no check engine light either. 7

    yup i wanna sell it and get back up in my suv and take the money from the car and lift it etc. miss my 4x4 350 5.7 liter ya know?

    yea thats exactly what its doing its running waayyyy to rich. turbo wants to build but something is causing hessitation etc. im just going to take it to mainstream monday have em fix it drive it home and park it until someone come for the car.

    Car has no cat. Has a bolt on test pipe and gsx yes

    did you pop an intercooler pipe? Check your MAF. Also, check your turbo to manifold bolts like someone else previously mentioned. Sounds like a simple problem whatever it is.

    Trust this man hes a DSM guru. But also if your not running a MAF-T or any kind of speed density setup your BOV needs to be recirculated back in to your intake pipe. Hopes this helps

    I have tuned a number of cars that idle perfect with an atmospheric Bov on mass air set ups. Is it ideal? Not really, but it can work just fine. You might get the occasional stall now and again on drive by wire cars, but it will not cause it to run stupid rich unless it is broken and venting when it should not be.

    You atleast need some kind of speed density setup to vent the BOV into the atmosphere. Doesn't work too well on the 1g and 2g mas setups. But it could just be a major boost leak
