We finaly put the new head and intake on and got it tunned again last night this it what it did. It still has a stock throttle body and stock intake that has been ported.

this is one great build. i was impressed as soon as i started the first part throttle pulls. it ran out of stock injector around the high 230ish range and made high 240ish with injectors totally leaning out.
bore out the stock tb and open up the exhaust and it should pick up another 5-10 easily.
did you drive it on the street yet? how'd it feel?

I may play around w/a sleeved H series next year. I've never been a fan of them since I had one in a cb7 in 1997. But I was still green still - the H has come a long way since then. May be worth a revisit. What's the specs on this setup??
Good stuff.

Damn, if I buy a H22a
can you guys build it for me lol?
you think im kidding, but im serious.
nice numbers, so how much did it cost to have all this work done?
I have a shop in macon but i dont pay to avertise on here so i dont think it would be fair to condone buiseness on here but im sure you can get my number from somebody. It is not a real exspensive build still old ass skunk 2 stage 2 cams just alot of port work done to the head and intake. My dad has 40 hours in the head.

I dont understand the "not having much done to it" talk, I mean its a fully built motor at over 12:1 compression. Yea the cams are small and the intake and TB are still stock, but thats it, everything else is pretty built. By no means am I saying these numbers are not impressive, Im just saying it is a built motor, not some bolt on's + cams motor. Im impressed its making that much power, especially through the M2B4.
I so would have let you test my H22 intake and TB had I known you were going to dyno. Right now its just sitting around waiting on my to finish my mounts. Would be nice to see how much power its worth, especially on a build like yours. I'd guess 15-20hp.
Damn! I hardly ever hear of NA h22s breaking 200hp. Much less 50 more. Take it to the track![]()
you must have been under a rock, there are some in the 280+
yea there are a few, some of them are now aiming for the 300 club
Well my dad just wanted it to look stock under the hood i had a skunk 2 manifold and throttle body on it when it was in my car but when we put it in the hatch this is just the way he decided to go .If we had all that stuff on there and pro 2 cams everybody would say well thats what it supposed to make so we decided to do things a little different. This is my dads daily driver not a race car we was not trying to make this much power dont get me wrong the motor is done right i can tell you the cc of every chamber on the head and alot of time has been put into doing it right with parts we had laying around . We could have got the same compression with type s pistons but they wouldnt run in the sleeved block thats the only reason we changed them. The cams came out of jason wallaces motor three years ago. ive had the rods for four years somebody ordered the wrong ones and i ended up with them not that these arnt nice parts but if we was trying to build this monster motor and buy new parts these would not be what we would have bought .its just a budget build on what we had that turned out pretty impressive if you ask me.

It is very impressive, but it is a fully built motor + sleeved block + ported head. That's all I was saying. Just seemed like a couple of folks were getting the impression it was closer to a stock motor.
My intake manifold looks completely stock too. With your dad's porting skillz all he would need is someone to mill out all the webbing on the inside. I'd imagine it would easily make 260 with a B series tranny and 275+ with some Skunk2 pro3's. Of course you are already maxing out the stock intake at 250 though.
Nice makes me want to get my H22 in my Hatch!!
We have several different intakes that we have done and this is just the one we found that works best for this motor .The webbing is cut down pretty far on the one on this motor.

Yes i would consider this a fully built motor but i honestly believe the same power can be made with type s pistons in a stock bottom end you can shave the head enough to get 12.3 compression fairly easy i just happen to have a sleeved block laying around. Ive done the calculations and if i run twenty inch slicks my gear ratio is the same as a b16 trany or h2b. i know i could never get them to hook at the track but would be interesting to dyno to see if it makes a difference in power. I have also heard that there is less rotating weight in a b16 trany and that helps im not sure but my lensos weighs alot less then the heavy 16 inch wheels it was dynoed on it would be great to see the differences between all that.

I am doing a h2b for a friend now and i would like to see exactly how much power i can make on a stock bottom end he has a stock h23 vtec right now . He has skunk2 pro 2 cams balance shaft removal kit rmf header and euro r intake 70 millimeter throttle body. I have my head just sitting on the shelf id like to put it on his motor and port and polish his intake and see just how much power i can make with his stock bottom end that would be interesting also.
252plus hp and 34.5 miles to the gallon all motor. 12.2 at 111
I do think that it has run out the hp limit on the throttle body but not the intake i think the intake is fine . Even the tunner thinks it will make five to ten more horse power just by changing the throttle body and exaust. The exaust is just some exaust shop two and a half inch bull crap with a cherry bomb lol for a resonator and a big muffler its real quiet.
252plus hp and 34.5 miles to the gallon all motor. 12.2 at 111
Just so you know jensen me and my my dad is a fan of your work and respect your imput if you need anything are have any questions feel free to ask we will help as much as we can and i have a h2b kit at the shop if you need ant specs off of it thinking of making a couple myself. I have a ton of h22 stuff if you need it i got it. Also this motor is tunned on 93 octane no race gas thats why we only went to 12.3 on the compresion he drives it everyday gets 34.5 miles to the gallon. Ive also been running type s valve train with these cams for years works great just in case anybody has some laying around.
252plus hp and 34.5 miles to the gallon all motor. 12.2 at 111
34mpgScotty rocks.
I didnt know the intake was all slicked up too, I just assumed after doing 40 hours on the head he might have left the intake alone to add an RBC or something else later on. I believe the intake still has some power left in it too. When you say stock TB, is that the little 55mm thing or 60? My stock intake entry and TB were 56mm for some reason. Maybe mine is just an old H22 intake? Its all 65mm now.
The big thing with the B series tranny is drivetrain loss, like you referenced. I believe they use about 3% less power than the M2B4, it could be more but thats a safe bet. I sent you a pm about the kit.![]()
It is actualy a f20b throttle body which is 65 mm stock i believe .You can stick a stock 62 mm h22 throttle body almost inside of a f2ob.
252plus hp and 34.5 miles to the gallon all motor. 12.2 at 111
Cool, so my theory of the 65mm being perfect size for my build seems accurate.
