^^ I dont "mod" my car with whatever the "trend" is.. i do my car clean.. thats all.. soo No body kits for me!! just OEM kit or a couple "sleek - Smooth" add ons here and there..
Its not so much the 'JDM' theme its just cleaner and most REAL JDM parts are for PERFORMANCE anyways..
But yea most fools are on a huge JDM bandwagon.![]()

I hate the 240 trends the most but the tire stretching shit is close..
MOST 240 owners wanna drift and think their car is fast as balls when its not.. I have met a few cool owners though..
BTW I don't follow any trends and not on a bandwagon... I mod my cars the way I see fit and I love em...
All the above has rysirs so technically u didn't 4gwt the rysirs
... All "trends" are retarded. People need to learn to be an Individual again...
I drift for my own personal reasons not because its "cool".

id say the honda and VW guys have the worst trend. alot of honda guys do the same thing. add a lip on it, slam it to no extent and have a B series. it rather gets tiring of seeing the same thing on a different car all the time. and the VW guys are just kinda stupid. i mean stretching is fine, but stretching that much, is way beyond fucked up. now i will admit, the 240 guys have a bad trend too with alot of kids who get them bone stock with open diffs and think they can drift or immediately go weld their diff. and i will admit alot of them are primered and what not. but what i do see in 240s is the fact that there are some out there who arent afraid to do what others think. who actually put body kits on their car because its what they want. and the ones that actually do have body kits and are painted, are usually done well and are complete in a sense. maybe not to the owner, but to me, and possibly you, it looks complete and you couldnt think of another thing to do. just my opinion on this

Long ass post son....
Well I wasn't going to post but I clicked the wrong box. I have to say that the VW guys that have to fit into all the trends that come and go are really bad about it. Most of the things you see done on Hondas now have all been done before with VW fanatics.
Custom headliners, overly wide wheels, tons of stickers, wire tucks, and lowering a car to the point where it is incredibly detrimental to the handling (which is what all the Honda kids are doing now) were all done by VW enthusiasts first.
I love VWs. Just not the VW owners who follow these stupid trends.
i didnt vote, but i say just do what you want. all this trend stuff is dumb. i used to be a honda nutswinger and tried to do whatever was cool, but i honestly just got sick of it. i wanted something totally off the wall. now my car might have the subtle mods that "JDM" people love but it fits me. for example, i have stickers, a lot of them. lol
maybe thats rice or whatever but if you the one driving then who cares right?
and it might not be the prettiest or fastest on the site by any means, but i can go to the varsity meet and say i have the only one there. can you do that?![]()
you've words have inspired me. i was afraid people would laugh at me for doing the next mod on my car, but your words of wisdom have helped me to find the courage to do it... i will replace my drivers and passenger seats with kohler toilets, if anyone has a problem with it... i fucking dare you to drive behind me and i hope it's on a day when i got the squirts![]()
I am not down with any of these "trends". I do have a MILD stretch to the tires on my 81 Corolla but to me its not for looks it is for more of a performance standpoint. When I did it I played around with the fitment of my wheels and tires a little and what I come up with was what I could afford at the time. I'm currently running 14x7 Celica-Supra wheels on my car with 195/60s on them. Its not a crazy stretch like demonstrated above but enough to stiffen up the tallwall enough that the car actually felt a decent in the curves. When I get home I will be converting over to 5x114.3 bolt pattern and running some 17s with lower profile tires on them so it will be done right but with the $$$ available I used the stretching option. that is all.
DEFINETLY... its not what others think at all! i could care less what others think of my ride.. lol just cuz i have an s13! and whats funny most ppl that talk about my car they cant even make it to a V meet!! lol
to me its all about being different and doing what you want! and never let any one stop you just let them hate!![]()
my car has battle scars all over it. has the most redic stickers you could imagine on it. no crack dash, interior clean as fuck. no window crack. tach works. i can drift. i love doing it. i love my 240. makes great power for very little money. its a very well balanced car for drifting. it does have a welded diff but any of those that have seen me drift i do my thing. im real sick of people putting down other peoples cars. not everybody can afford a g35 to drift in or a svt cobra to race. or maybe they like the style. i think a lot of us have forgotten why we even build or fix up cars. because we simply love to do it. some are easier than others and thats all thats available to them.
Agreed!
then again most that are into building cars don't hold the passion like others. That's something you can't hand out. You wont find many people that understand and know the true value of other cars then of their own, and appreicate others cars for it be a Ferrari to a Cube... That's why we have trends, because others are afraid to do something different.
As, far as people hating 240's that drift, that is more of a ban-wagon, people jump on to feel the comfort of others agreeing with them.
Most other 240's i've seen/talked too/ or that i know that drift, are ass-hats. EX:darren. (sp?) So that has started this "phase" everyone wants to be apart of.
Oh, yeah and most others i've seen drift want to do it to go silly sideways but hold no true value with it. IMO i love know what my car can do in it stock form, and to learn all it. Others are soo into, OMG i have to build this car i just got, not knowing or understanding the car in stock form. Which to me is a problem, now i dont have a wielded diff, but a VLSD isn't anything to brag about. I might get an open diff and wield till i get a clutch type LSD. Its all to have fun. To me its just great to be able to keep control of your car while its "out of control". Anyways, If others would learn to appreciate, other cars other then there own, the "scene"/"game"/"w/e" will return how it once was.

lol if you think he can drift you should see me and david, nhan, matt, todd....lol hes the last person i would think of lol
and i appreciate every car that has been build or work put into it because i myself do all my own work and know how much time effort and money is involved. no matter what car it is or what style or trend it is i always step back and look at all the work thats been put into a car....even these so called ricey cars
No, i don't think he can. Actually i don't like him one bit, what i was saying is he is the type of person who soiled drifting, and make others frown on it. I've heard of the others who drift, i know they are good, lol. I dont plan on getting out with the "cooler dirfters", till i get my suspension parts/motor ready. Till then, i just solo.
EDIT: Most others don't build their own, they buy, or have others build it, but when you start from the ground up, you then can appreciate EVERY thing you have... even a 707 Hp 240 with A/C and power steering...

lol you dont have to go solo. just hit us up sometime. your more than welcome to come out with use. most of us started with open diff and stock ka. except me lol. i got lucky and already had a sr with vlsd then i got a welded. and by the way im still on lowering springs. i get my coilovers this week![]()
THE truth. im pretty sure all the hate comes from honda owners. but remember, ITS IA!!! lol this place is a joke. so are 90% of most forums bro. i really did think that we worked and built our cars because we love to do so. now its just a fucking popularity contest lol. yeah its nice to drive down the road and have people stop and stare, but its gonna end up in your garage at the end of the day. it really only matters if YOU love your car.
You don't even work on your car, you sell it because you can't figure out how to swap a transmission.
Your 240 doesn't have scars or anything, it's a bucket of rice with not one good item on it. You can't even drift.
THE POST ABOVE ME, THAT IS THE WORST TREND EVER, THE RICERS WHO ACT ALL BAD ASS AND JUST HARD PARK THEIR SHIT BOXES.
yes their are a lot of people who get the 240 and think automatically that they can drift when they get a 240. when i was first learning it was frustating like hell trying to get the concept down. its a lot diffrenent then doing donuts in first gear. when you actually have to do it at speed thats when it becomes tricky. but everyone has to start somewhere. i didnt orig get my car for drifting. it was going to be more of a drag car but when i started to give it a try to me it was more of a rush then just driving in a straight line. not hating on drag racers cause i still like racing to just it was diffrenent. and the more i did it, the more obsessed i came with it. i took a hold of it then took off from there.
o rly?
Mine's the red one.
yeah really....erebody know how to drift...duh
