Default Remeber those old Ford Taurus SHO back in the early 90's...

Well they came back out with it and now it will probably pass the EVO's and STi's in a race LOL. INFO:http://www.rsportscars.com/ford/2010-ford-taurus-sho/ Sort of reminds me of a C70 VOLVO on STEROIDS LOL.

Its not that fast. It's not even close to an Evo or Sti in anything. It handles like a boat with a half decent suspension and doesn't have enough power for the weight to be considered any kind of sport sedan. Yea its faster than the old ones but not fast by any means in todays standards.

Not to mention they only get 17/28mpgs. lol I would think an STI/EVO wins in that field.

I was thinking it would end up like that. I am also not a fan of the 6-speed slushbox as the only transmission option.

It is also very very very bland looking.

Really? Since when is 360hp not fast? Not to mention it's trapping the same as the Evo X in the 1/4 mile...

6 spd shifted paddle automatic isnt any normal Auto though. You have play in that tranny while driving.

The cars stat and appearence is nice overall... BUT... you put some downforce upgrades maybe some lips or upgrade the body, lower it nice and snug, w/ light weight rims, some upgrades in the engine, and a nice toned exhaust system, that would be one mean machine.

The Taurus is a large car compared to the STI and EVO.

I'm glad Ford has brought it back but comparing those is like comparing a Miata to a Mustang Convertible.

The SHO weights over two tons (4337 lbs) :OMG:

The new evo and STI tip scales at under 3,500 lbs. In the corners, you'd feel 837+ lbs.

Ford screwed it up, the motor should've gone in the Fusion which already has an excellent chassis. The Taurus is just TOOOO heavy.

True but i was comparing them to the 1/4 run. Ya in the turns it would get beat w/ out proper weight reduction and what not.

The new SHO is a beast. Its a ttV-6 good for what 355hp? Thats more than anything Acura puts out to put in perspective. The interior is very well done and fit and finish is good. 20s from the factory is an option. The SHO does not have bigger brakes, just beefier pads.

0-60 is timed in the low to mid 5 second range, that is FAST for a 4300lbs AWD car from FORD. Think about that. I can't WAIT to see the turbo and engine modded. The next Mustang will likely get this engine as an option. Its now an option in the Ford Flex.

The SHO is for the mature ex EVO/STi buyer who may need more room for a family and more luxury and quiet.

    They are apples to oranges

Since its put in a car that weighs nearly 4400lbs. Yea its a beast, its huge. The Evo isn't exactly fast either. Drive one hard and its pretty quick, the Taurus isn't at all. It handles like a 4400lb car with brakes that are way to small for any performance driving. Everyone says the Supras are pigs but Ford makes a sedan that weighs several hundred pounds more and makes about the same power and all of a sudden that's fast. Sorry but it takes more than a commercial and a decent engine to make something fast. I fully agree that it should have been put in the Fusion, that would have been a sweet car. This is marketed as a performance sedan but its not, its just a portly sedan with just enough power to keep up with itself. BMW has had engines making that kind of power in the 5 series for some time now, they're just as fast, nicer, and truly depicted as nothing more than a luxury sedan with the power to keep up. I'm glad Ford finally caught up to what they've been shooting at for years but its nothing more than the same old same in the market they're aiming at.

no one was gonna pay the price for the Fusion.. and the fusion went hybrid instead. But it woudl have been cool to see... They have been trying to bring the taurus back for a few years. I think this was a good way to do so..

I was going to say that it was more comparable to a Legacy, but I think the Fusion is still a better competitor still, not like the Impreza/SHO comparison. I didn't realize that you could get an AWD 265hp Fusion, that's awesome, forget the SHO.
I was really liking the SHO until that weight thing, lame, the Fusion is lighter, tighter and a better sized car all-around, I'm with OnURleft.
