You went in boost, with a broken TPS, you blew your engine. Lesson learned hopefully

Do you know what a TPS does or how it works? Read up on it and you will see why your motor blew up
I NEVER said I beat on the car! I drove it from the shop to my house. Yes, I know what a TPS does, and I knew that it was faulty, but I was assured that my car shouldn't blow up because of it. I'm not trying to cheap out and make it on a basemap. I know I have to get the car tuned, and I will. I'm just trying to make sure I have pin-pointed the issue before I go through this again.

...no one has answered my question about the Blox TPS.

    Thanks for all the help.

Thanks man! Your the only person so far, who knows how to answer the OP's question in a post! REPS! Plus, I was reading on HondaTech and there were mixed reviews. Did you put it on, or did you have someone else install it?

i installed it myself, all you need is a multi-meter..... theres 3 wires on the tps sensor plug, tap into the middle wire with the positive side of the multimeter (your doing this with the plug still plugged into the new tps sensor and installed onto the throttle body), and ground the other multimeter wire to a ground. turn your ignition on the second click (the one where your fuel pump comes on but your motor isnt cranked) leave it on, now with the throttle closed/at rest the tps sensor should read between .45 - .50 volts (if not adjust it by slightly spinning the sensor) and then at WOT the TPS should read 5 volts. hope that helps

we have all answered your question. You just dont want to hear the answer.

A TPS , in conjunction with your Map sensor, tells your ECU how much fuel, timing you need. You may have been fine on just the MAP sensor before, but the fact that you installed a turbo kit that was untuned, and drove it WITHOUT FIXING THE EXISTING PROBLEM kinda shows that you have no idea what you are doing. No offense.

If you know what a TPS is then you should know the consequences of riding around on a bad one.

Unless you had a T15 turbo on it, you stated you hit boost. That means you were at least around 4000-5000 rpms on that 1.5L motor. No turbo builds boost at idle. Any amount of positive manifold pressure, combined with a faulty TPS makes for an easy diagnosis for why your motor blew up.

The BLOX TPS should fix your problem ,if the TPS sensor itself is bad. Why dont you try fixing it instead of throwing parts at it. All you have to do is use a volt meter to see if its working properly.

You were kinda insinuating that Scotty or maybe the shop had something to do with your motor blowing up. I was telling you that an ECU is a basemap, and YES it is totally possible with a broken TPS for you to blow your motor up that fast.
